No. 25 Vanderbilt (24-7, 11-7 SEC) defeated No. 22 Tennessee (21-10, 11-7 SEC), 86-82, Saturday at Food City Center in a regular-season finale for both schools.

The Vols played without Nate Ament, who missed his second consecutive game due to an ankle injury. JaylenCarey and Bishop Boswell both played despite battling illness. Troy Henderson left the game with a shoulder injury and did not return.

The Commodores led, 32-22, at halftime and extended their advantage to as many as 17 points early in the second half.

Amari Evans scored a career-high 24 points. He also totaled six rebounds and three steals for the Vols, who will next play Thursday in the SEC Tournament. Evans converted 9-of-18 field goal attempts, 2-of-4 three-point attempts and 4-of-7 free throw attempts. He was one of three Tennessee players to score 10-plus points in the game against Vanderbilt.

J.P. Estrella had 20 points, all in the second half, and recorded a double-double despite not attempting a shot before halftime. He finished with 10 rebounds, two assists and one block, while Ja'Kobi Gillespie scored 10 of his 13 points after halftime

Felix Okpara recorded eight points, 10 rebounds and four blocks, while Boswell totaled five points, four assists and two steals before fouling out for the Vols.

The Commodores' Tyler Tanner led all scorers with 25 points. He also recorded five rebounds, five assists and two steals.
