The thing that excites me about this offseason is the team spirit that seems to be more prevalent this off season. We may have less 'studs' than in the past these guys are often locker room poison. There's definitely a more focussed / determined vibe coming from a lot of the players.

I know you need ability to get the job done but Im cautiously optimistic that the foundations are in place for a 2-3 year programme. I think we'll notch up a lot more than the 4 wins that are being predicted for us and as long as we don't self desturct next off-season, we could be a dark horse going in to 2004/5 season.

If it's not like that at all dont tell me, i want to enjoy the summer.

Welcome to the board! The good news is, I think your views are pretty dead on with what's happening. This will be a very focused and dedicated group of athletes. I think the veteran leadership of Emmitt and Jackson will be a great thing.

The bad news is, this sounds a lot like the vibe we were getting going into this past season. The difference - no Jake under center. I think we'll be okay.

And I'll let you go on the lunch order, seeing as you're writing from so far away.

Not Rangers, the other lot, the good guys. Celtic.

They actually got to a European final this year, in Seville, Spain. Went across, lost but had a great few days. Drank a lot of cerveza.

Celtic getting to the final was a bit like the Cards making the Superbowl. Dreams can happen....

know Greenock well. Born in Gasgow living in Edinburgh.

One of the very few Cards fans over here. Cant remember what year i picked them out. Mid-late 80's when they were still in St Louis and were making a spirited run at the playoffs.

Needless to say they lost their last game from recollection and didnt make it.

Memory might be playing tricks on me. Perhaps just a way to deal with the pain over the years....

Welcome, Wembley. I agree with you - the team seems to be more "together" this season.

Make mine some scones and a double-shot of Dewar's neat.

(Note: It's an ASFN tradition - Newcomer buys).

I'll take a keg of Budweiser and a pound of bacon regardless.

Registered March 11th, but what the heck.

I'll have a pound of Haggis and your best single malt scotch.

Forget the Haggis - a 25-year old Ardbeg is enough for me...

I bet you are the only one wearing their shirt. I grew up and still live in Germany and I have never ever heard of them. What league are they in ? Regionalliga or Oberliga or even lower?

It's a good thing you can't drop out of the NFL after a bad season.

Go cards.

Dont know about the keg of Budweiser. How about some Italian Peroni - do you guys get that in the States. Just back from Italy and it's got to be the finest beer ever.

Just catching up with all those signings we made while i was away on holiday......

I grew up and still live in Germany Just wondering - but are there any guys besides Wembley and Wulf who live overseas?

Perhaps there should be a Cardinals-Internationale Division of AFSN.

they are in the lowest level of the Bayern league - Hof is in the Oberfranken area, right next to the old border with Czech and East Germany.... They usually suck, but their fans are laid back - no rioting that I've heard of. The jersey is yellow and black and would look good at a Steelers game....
btw - their best player this year is a half American brutha...

I lived in Germany from 1970-74 (Gelnhausen), and again from 1981-87 (Fulda & Hanau). I have very fond memories of my time over there.
