Most times when a team starting Qb goes down for a length of time or for the season consensus seems to write off the teams chances of winning.

So how important is it to have a top notch backup Qb ESPECIALLY if the team is a true contender?

It would be a shame to build this team around Kyler this off season, be in the hunt and have it all fall apart with an injury to him.

So does anybody think Tune is the guy? Would it be wise to sign a guy like Brissett even though a guy like him would cost more. Or do we just pray Kyler stays healthy?

You want your backup to be able to carry your team to a .500 record should your starter be down for 4 to 6 games . That should keep you in the hunt... Lose your starting QB longer than 6 weeks and your season is likely lost

I thought that is why Dobbs was here. Now, he is the backup of a backup. But he has more chance of winning a game than Tune does.

I doubt the plan is to get another vet, but that might depend on how they think Tune is doing.
