Vanderbilt (17-12, 5-4 SEC) defeated No. 21 Tennessee (18-10, 3-5 SEC), 16-15, Sunday at Hawkins Field in Nashville, Tennessee. Vanderbilt completed a three-game series sweep.

The Commodores scored six runs in the ninth inning and earned a victory after a grand slam by Tommy Goodin..

The Vols led, 1-0, in the first inning after Reese Chapman hit a RBI single. Vanderbilt hit two home runs in the first inning to take, 4-1, lead.

The Vols tied the game, 4-4, after Blaine Brown hit a three-run home run in the second inning.

Tennessee regained a lead with two runs in the third inning. Tyler Myatt recorded an RBI on a sacrifice fly and Levi Clark hit a scoring single, making the score, 6-4.

After the Commodores led, 9-6, Tennessee tied the game with three runs in the fifth inning after Trent Grindliger hit a two-run single and Chapman hit a RBI single.

Vanderbilt led, 10-9, after scoring one run in the fourth inning before Manny Marin walked with the bases loaded and Grindlinger had a two-run single, giving Tennessee a, 12-10, lead. Tennessee scored three runs in the ninth inning.

Brown went 3-for-5. He hit one home run and one double, while scoring four runs and recorded three RBIs. Blake Grimmer went 2-for-4 and scored three runs.

Brayden Krenzel (1-2) recorded a loss for the Vols.
