Vanderbilt (15-12, 3-4 SEC) defeated No. 21 Tennessee (18-8, 3-4 SEC), 3-2, in 10 innings Friday to open a SEC series at Hawkins Field in Nashville, Tennessee.

Vanderbilt won the game on a walk-off single by Logan Johnstone with two outs in the tenth inning.

The Commodores led, 1-0, after Brodie Johnston hit a RBI single in the third inning. Vanderbilt extended its advantage to, 2-0, in the fifth inning after Korbin Reynolds hit a solo home run.

The Vols would pulled to within, 2-1, after Blake Grimmer scored on a Vanderbilt error in the sixth inning.

Tennessee tied the game in the eighth inning on a RBI single by Levi Clark.

Grimmer went 1-for-3 and recorded one double and scored one run, while Clark went 2-for-4 and recorded one RBI. Many Marin went 1-for-4 and scored one run.

Tegan Kuhns (1-3) pitched 4.1 innings in relief for the Vols. He allowed one run, five hits and one walk. Kuhns recorded six strikeouts, while totaling 78 pitches, including 56 strikes.

Brandon Arvidson started for the Vols. He allowed two runs, four hits and walks. Arvidson recorded seven strikeouts and 86 pitches (54 strikes).
