The Diamondbacks placed right-hander Michael Soroka on the 15-day injured list with a strained left glute and outfielder Jordan Lawlar on the 10-day injured list with a strained right hamstring, losing two more players on Saturday, June 20, after having put right-hander Ryne Nelson there one day earlier.

Taking their places on the roster are left-hander Philip Abner and infielder/outfielder Tim Tawa, both of whom were recalled from Triple-A Reno.

Abner gives them another fresh arm in the bullpen. The team still has not announced who will step into Nelson’s rotation spot on Sunday.

Soroka and Lawlar were hurt during the Diamondbacks’ 9-5 win over the Minnesota Twins on Friday night at Chase Field.

Soroka exited his start after just one inning. He was scheduled to undergo an MRI on Saturday.

Lawlar left the game after legging out a bunt single in the eighth inning.
