I get what he is trying to say. As someone who is born, raised and lives in Arizona, what he is trying to say is that it’s hard to compete with transplants from other states and their alliances from their home state. It sucks and I don’t understand it. But I’ve never lived anywhere else. It is what it is.

The only way to create a fan base is to win and win consistently.

I applaud him for saying it, because he's trying to get a reaction; get fans to do something about it. The problem is, like Atlanta, Phoenix is a fair weather football town, and needs to put a good product on the field. I think they will end up doing that eventually, because they drafted Beck and Love. All those draft picks the last 3 years have to mature and pay dividends this season; even if there are only 4-9 wins. Then the owner has to make it a priority to really build the OL. Not cost cutter OL coaches, and mediocre OL personell, but solid free agency signings.

Would be more accurate to say few homegrown fans?

Or, perhaps he on to something? We may be fans of suffering instead of fans of AZ :D

100%. What an ignorant thing to say or even joke about. Been a Cardinals' fan much longer than he has been alive.

Ask the people paying 8k to travel to NY with the official travel group if they are true Cardinals fans.

He could have said something like "We got a small group of hard core fans but it needs to grow"

Ask the people who sat in swamp ass Sun Devil for years before SAFE made them leave for standing too long, cheering too hard, or displaying a banner that dared say anything other than "We are the best". Or the guys who had South Endzone seats for decades before they were forcefully relocated so Michael could try to create a corporate space.

People gotta stop being so sensitive. McBride knows there are Cardinals fans. However, he also recognizes it is one of the weakest fan bases in the NFL. There are reasons for that but it is still a fact.
No one likes to hear it though. It SHOULD bother the general fanbase but the hardcore fans who have spent their life like us on this board, living, dying, crying, cursing and otherwise being infinitely obsessed with everything Cardinals, know that he's not talking about us. I was doing this before this man was an itch in his dad's pants so I can dismiss it with a smirk.

He’s not wrong. Every night when I drop to one knee to thank my creator, I include a prayer that we either escape AZ altogether, or we somehow escape the Bidwill family. Whether it’s deserved or not, we have the worst fan base in all of sports. Bidwill should have either stayed in St. Louis or moved to Baltimore.

Exactly!

People need to stop taking things out of context with small clips of a larger conversation. He was literally talking with a lifelong Cardinals fan when he said There are no Arizona fans in Arizona.

When you have been on a team that has to regularly practice for crowd noise in your own stadium you understand what he is actually getting at.

Trey must not be familiar with ASFN

This Cardinals board is loaded with diehard Cardinals fans discussing the team 24/7/365

I was a huge fan for decades but went from diehard to fair weather fan a few years ago after Bidwill renewed Kliff/Keim/Murray’s contracts

God I hate Bidwill

Who is taking things out of context? He said what he said.

Here is his Mensa-level convo: "There are no fans in Arizona. But, hopefully, we start winning and those fans come back."

Which fans? The ones you just said do not exist?

Maybe be better prepared when discussing things like the NFL fans that support the team you play for.

Thought his moms raised him better than this. SMH.

Maybe his attitude will rub off on the new guys who want change then affect the others with their leadership. Guys opening, closing the facility.
