Often with major injuries you have to wait until the swelling goes down to get an accurate image.

True, usually for ligament damage. However i find some solace in knowing that many catastrophic injuries were announced yesterday and Cardinals injuries still have a "maybe" tag on them.

In other words, there is still hope for a 4-6 week injury instead of season ending

You'd think if it was remotely good news we'd have found out by now

Maybe they're wanting to announce the Plan B C at the same time? Who's getting elevated, practise squad targets etc

Idk, the Cardinal way is to deceive and downplay injuries. Like how we thought Walter Nolan might not miss time or if so just 1 game. I have a feeling they are both done, but for some reason they act like withholding that info until as late as possible gives them an advantage.

Talking about trying out bottom of the barrel street free agents... If this is what we ultimately sign? The season is almost certainly over... lol I find it hard to believe there aren't better practice squad options from other teams we can steal?

The new regime just do not share any information at all and they have redacted media access for media when they concluded how long DR was out last year, so now nobody dares to report anything.

That not deception or misinformation, it’s just no information.

Stephon Gilmore is unsigned. Asante Samuel Jr would be the obvious one.

James Bradberry is unsigned and knows the defense.

The three safety sets will have to go- but honestly was kind of bizarre/questionable anyhow. Rabbit and JT can certainly play slot corner at a high level.

Thankfully the next 2 weeks we are not facing good quarterbacks- nor a real dominant receiving core either. Guys will need to step up- but we can survive this. I’m just hoping it’s not a season ending injury for all of 3.

I think we all know deep down that Melton and Williams are done for the season. We just don’t want to believe it. How often do you see players down holding their knee in pain, annd not return and it’s only a sprain.
Especially the Cardinals, this team is not lucky as we know!
I’m only holding out hope that Johnson is okay and that we sign a competent CB.

I think the 3 S sets will be more prominent.

I’m more hopeful about Melton than Williams but would bet both are done for the season sadly. Melton looked like he banged his knee really hard on the chase down tackle so maybe something with the kneecap.

Same, Melton took a very heavy landing and it could just be bruising or limited impact injury. Williams looked more like a tendon.

The 3 CBs brought in for tryouts don’t look promising and add to the speculation that they already know Melton and Williams are done.
I’ll say this…if this is the only move, we are in for a lot of pain!
