I would love to eventually see a frontline of KM, Fleming, and Dunn. On paper the size, skill set, and offense defense combo looks perfect. But that's just a dream at the moment. All are young guys that have to develop.

O'Neale goes to the deep bench or gets traded. Brooks comes off the bench but gets significant minutes. Same with Allen if he stays.

Will be interesting to see how Fleming develops. Will he get the start at PF after a while? Are Brooks (ugh) and Dunn + our SG's good enough to defend and rebound or will we be too small? If Dunn don't start at SF because of Brooks then who are our forwards from the start of the season? I also think we'll go with Book, Green, Dunn, Brooks and Williams. Then sub in O'Neale, Maluach, Gillespie, Fleming, Allen.

We got some big guys at center this season. It's all good. Let's see how it develops.

That's a big frontline. I like it. It has potential.

That's what I am thinking. To start the season, at least.
I would not start Brooks at pf. I actually would consider Rasheer depending on how he does in camp. Brooks is a sf in my mind.

I don't think he was saying Brooks was a PF, more of you have two guys in Brooks and Dunn that are switchable defensively. I actually heard one of the guys on 98.7, might have been Olsen, saying he thought Dunn would guard PF if he and Brooks were on the floor together, FYI.

I am saying to start the season because they are vets. I hope Fleming wins that spot for sure. That makes us a big front line.

Big and athletic. And a reason I have no desire to make Dunn an undersized PF. Doesn’t mean there can be small lineups where he can shift there, but let him play and get most of his minutes at his natural position and then you can grow his game/versatility from there.

Yeah, there's no way Brooks doesn't start, I don't think.

I don't think you can put Dillon Brooks in the corner. So, IMO, that likely means Ryan Dunn starts unless something changes before the season.

The good thing is the Suns have capable big men to play center and rotation players with size.

Agree with this it’s exciting. I’d pefer to trade Allen over Oneale myself.

I was having some fun on a variation of the quote from the 1987 movie "Dirty Dancing."

We can put him wherever we want. What has he done on this team to warrant special treatment? He’s a band-aid and not part of the long term future so I see no reason why he should be standing/starting in front of someone who is.

I assume we are talking about Dillon Brooks still. He's 29. While I agree in principle with what you are saying, especially as it applies to ONeal and Beal, Brooks could play out the rest of his run here alongside Booker and be quite productive. If mgmt has him here just short term, then there is no pointing playing him, but if he is going to stay here long term, I'm fine with that too.

I am not fine with him starting at pf. He is not a pf.

Hmm, they say Fleming is supposed to be good on defense, and he has a three point shot, so maybe it works?

Williams / Richards / Maluach
Fleming / Oso / Huntley
Dunn / Brooks / O'Neale
Green / Allen / Brea
Booker / Gillespie / Morris

A couple of thoughts, if I am interpreting this correctly. It sounds like you are thinking Monte Morris is coming back.

Btw, Huntley is on s two-way contract. Nigel Hayes-Davis, power forward, was supposed to have signed a standard contract with the Suns.

I am thinking since the Suns wanted Brooks in the trade, and he fits the style we want to play, he is going to start.

I could see Brooks starting over Dunn. This board will hate it unless they win
Rightfully so - most see Brooks on the decline, and we're not winning anything of substance the next couple of years. Best case scenario, we flip Brooks for assets.

This could well happen, but I think initially the Suns would lean towards starting Brooks and Dunn at the forwards as a first option, using a big center to offset lack of size.

In this scenario, speed and quickness would be their calling card on offense and defense.

However, the Suns added size at forward and center for a reason. When they are ready to play, we will see them as rotation players.

Really? Where does this come from? He’s in the prime of his career and came off career best eFG% last year. How mild do you think he is?

He may have already peaked statistically, showing a gradual decline in most areas since his best year in Memphis in 2022, including points, rebounds, and assists. Speaking of which, he is not capable of initiating the offense or playing PF. The one area where he has continued to improve, however, is three-point shooting, where he shot 39.7% last year.

Several people who have watched a lot more of Brooks have said as much. Hopefully it's not the case.
