I started watching back in 1964 so I know all the old times and how they used to hit back then. The NFL decided to protect quarterbacks and receivers and you have to go with the rules. That's now and that was then
Agree but that has nothing to with the Dart play. It was a legal hit.

I don't know what you're trying to show. His foot is definitely touching the line so he's out of Bounds at the time of the hit. It's not so much the hit it's the force and type of the hit

His foot was not only inbounds but he was trying to get the first down which is why he cut up field.

All in all Dart just has terrible judgement in not trying to protect himself. He does something stupid ever week.

The issue is the severity of the hit and the dual standard for penalties.

However, let's leave that alone for a moment.

If that is a wide receiver in the back of the end zone, they call that out of bounds 9 times out of 10.

Colts digging deep

Maybe 44-year-old Philip Rivers has something more than fumes in the lawnmower tank after more than four and a half seasons of retirement. Maybe he’ll do enough to stop the 1-4 slide that has followed a 7-1 start.

But they’re bringing in Rivers because there aren’t many other options. That’s because, in part, the trade deadline came and went five weeks ago.

Bully for them. They haven't won a playoff game since Moby Dick was a minnow, but their owner thinks they've "had some success around here" in recent years. Yes, that is a direct quote from a radio appearance. Local sports talk radio played it over and over again in bafflement.

He has won 10 straight games while throwing for 200 or more passing yards in each one. If Maye does it again on Sunday against the Bills, he’ll be only the fifth player to ever do it in 11 straight games, per NBC Sports research.

Peyton Manning did it twice, in 2009 (14 games) and 2012 (11 games). Tom Brady did it in 2007 (13 games). Aaron Rodgers did it in 2011 (13 games). Dan Marino did it in 1984 (11 games).

Maye would join Marino as the only players to accomplish that feat before the age of 25.
