They have even suspended players who were not arrested. The NFL takes domestic abuse seriously.

Examples of suspensions without arrests​

This is interesting analysis from a lawyer. It sounds like there's not much ground to sue on based on when Maurice Clarett sued the league to enter the draft early. It looks like the CBA is governed by NY in the 2nd circuit too which means they can't get the booster friendly judge again.

On one end, I'm glad the Sorsby soga is over but on the other hand, I wish it played out so the Cardinals could emphatically pass on drafting him showing Beck they believe he is the guy for the future.

1 the defense was never good just like the oline was never good. We had no run game the entire year as well.

2. The offense always starts slow to start the season in the NFL.

3. Had this team been coached well we would have started 4-0 last season.

so... soresby needs to either hire a personal coach and prepare for next years draft or....

he doesnt have NCAA eligibility,..but the NCAA aint the only game in town... he could play JUCO ball... or go semi pro for a year...then declare for the 2027 draft as he had originally planned.

i could see the players union fighting a fight like this at some point. But do they want to fight it for a guy who is not a member of the NFL players union?

Well, there is always the Canadian Football league that might take him.

Their season is already started but with playoffs it runs until November. He might grab a backup spot as teams obviously have starters. Coaching is good and many teams have wide open passing games that would suit his strong arm. If he can get an offer I’d recommend going that way. It’s highly scouted. It’s a route that’s worked for many players.

I can't remember the NFL ever denying a player entry to the supplemental draft. They've let guys in who were ruled ineligible because of drugs (Josh Gordon), NCAA rule-breaking (Terrelle Pryor) and grades (Ahmad Brooks), over and over.

Clearly, the NFL is drawing a line here.

The NFL has informed clubs and Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby that it will not hold a supplemental draft this year, meaning Sorsby is ineligible to enter the league in 2026, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported Tuesday.

It was a bush league move by Sorsby and his representation.

I totally agree with the NFL's response:

"Your Petition -- filed three business days before the deadline, without any supporting information or documentation, and only after abandoning your recent litigation efforts to avoid NCAA sanctions -- does not provide a basis for the League to alter those plans. The issues presented by your Petition are too significant, and too closely tied to the League's core integrity interests, to permit meaningful review within the timeline presented."

"The League does not have the complete record of the NCAA's investigation, and you did not provide any such materials with your Petition," the league said in its letter to Sorsby. "Available information nonetheless indicates that, over the course of your collegiate career, you knowingly engaged in repeated and significant violations of NCAA rules designed to preserve the integrity of athletic competition. Reported conduct includes placing wagers on your own team and teammates and, to avoid detection, establishing or funding accounts in the names of intermediaries who placed bets on your behalf. There are also reports that you may have violated state criminal law.
