Probably an indication we should hold on to him. He's versatile and played with a lot of energy. He seems like the kinda player who "aligns" with the stated vision of our team culture.

I like Cody Martin and would like to keep him, but his salary is not fully guaranteed until June 30th.

However, the Suns may need to move him to help get below the second tax apron.

I have read that.

They are actually in a decent spot with Martin. Can deal him or waive him. I wouldn't be surprised if we get some 2nd rounders for him. Gives another team a lower salary player and gives us some financial relief. It doesn't make sense to waive him though if they remain as far over the apron line as they are since he has some value. Kind of like how they handled Okogie last year.

Cody might be in more demand than Durant since he is on a reasonable salary. He is the type of energy player the Suns want as you point out.

Plus, he plays good defense and can play some PF if needed for brief stints.

Cody's brother was also a starter in Miami. He left last year for more money from Philly but it makes sense they'd want Cody, who is more of a wing than his brother. Caleb is more of a Markieff Morris to Cody's Marcus. I'm sure you can see what I'm saying, although the Martin's aren't twins. Similar games and builds but a little different stylistically.

Yes, I like both players with Caleb being the better player, IMO. I understand the Heat is one of the teams interested in Cody.

I'd feel a heck of a lot better if David Griffin was leading the Suns FO rather than Ishbia via proxy of Brian Gregory. Griffin made some nice moves and put together a solid team and coach that looked poised to compete in the west. Unfortunately injuries and bad luck with Zion's lack of discipline was his undoing.

Yes, the Martins are twins. In fact, they are identical twins.

What I'm reading and hearing is the Suns are getting lowball trade offers for Durant, especially since he does not want to be traded to the Raptors or Timberwolves.

The Suns should prepare for the possibility they may have to sit on his contract until the trade deadline or all season, if necessary.

I don't think Toronto cares about him resigning. Last time they traded for a guy who told him he wouldn't resign, they won the NBA Championship.

I understand that Durant claims, in response to DeMarcus Cousins' dubious secondhand claim that the Suns players had fights in the locker room, that the source is some Suns teammate (ex-teammate?) and the teammate is lying. I expect so, but I wonder who it was. I have an idea, but it's sheer speculation and I don't want to speculatively name names.

I don't think players who acted as blase on the court as these Suns are very likely to have fought in the locker room. I think some fights were actually more plausible when Chris Paul ran the team. He is the only Suns player I know of who probably had the sort of obnoxious hyper-competitiveness associated with Michael Jordan. I can "kinda sorta" imagine Paul getting into a fight with a Suns teammate if he thought the teammate was slacking off. Yeah: Devin Booker gets lazy in a practice or game one day, and an irritated Paul plays Michael Jordan to Booker's Steve Kerr.

Interesting. Gambo just posted this Sunday morning.

A Kevin Durant deal is very close. Phoenix continues to work with multiple teams to get the deal they want and I expect it will happen today or tomorrow

New day, same Gambo tweet
That is not the same tweet. Gambo's sources with the Suns are exceptional.

You can take it to the bank a deal happens today or tomorrow. I think it will be Miami.

No, not really.

Jalen Green sucks. Brooks is an A hole. And they are both shooting guards, which we don't need.

10th pick, and 5 seconds is the deal really.

It is not the best trade nor the worst. Maybe the Suns can flip Green or Brooks.

The 10th pick and those second round picks are welcome.
