This is my take on the initial depth chart, not including two-ways.

Booker, Gillespie, Goodwin/Butler
Green, Allen,
Brooks, O'Neale, Hayes-Davis
Dunn, Oso, Fleming
Williams, Richards, Maluach

I think Hayes-Davis is a bit of a wild card. I expect Maluach to be 3rd string center until he gets his feet under him and/or Richards is traded. I'd like to move O'Neale if HD can play.

IDK anything about the guy, but Nigel Hayes-Davis supposedly can play PF. I don't remember if it was kellan Olsen, or Brendan Kleen who was saying that. I did hear good stuff from Olsen on his play. Olsen seemed impressed by his play.
Yeah, I would bet he will be the starter as of now.

The cupboard is not bare for the Suns at power forward. There are a number of candidates.

Now, who starts at the forward positions will be an interesting battle.

I'm sure Brooks will want to claim one spot and the Suns think highly of Dunn.

I really want O'Neal off this team. He should not get a minute if Dunn is eligible to play.

I think Brooks and Dunn split time at the 3 and probably play backup 4 - but I don't think you can start them both - maybe against some teams.

Richards is not getting time over Maluach - he is playing even if he is much worse. But I don't even think Richards will be on the team by training camp.

I did some digging and finally reached out to some old friends in Europe, and they all swear Nigel is an NBA player. Unlike with Luka, I haven't seen many full games, but everyone I asked swears that Nigel belongs in the NBA.

There are a lot of candidates, but none of them are good candidates. Fleming very clearly is not ready, Dunn is to small, as is Brooks. Davis can't really jump to rebound. Oso is useless more than 5 feet from the basket.

Kuminga is what we really need - somehow.

Precious Achiuwa should not be ignored either.

I was listening to Gambo before these moves were made and he was actually making sense saying the Suns should take their time on filling the last couple spots. There's buy outs ahead, potential trades, etc. Then I get home and I see they picked up some, meh kind of pick ups.
I agree, pretty meh. I get there's not a lot left in the remainder bin, and they don't have much flexibility with the cap situation. But it's pretty hard to get too excited about what appears to be the "final" roster. A lot of journeyman types and "fingers crossed" rookies around Booker.

But the Suns made their own bed with those disastrous trades and now they have to lie in it for the foreseeable future. I guess it is what it is.

These are really low risk moves for the Suns and leaves them a ton of flexibility to make other moves.

The Suns are only out $25,006 for Jordan Goodwin unless the rest of his minimum salary is guaranteed in January.

Jared Butler's salary is not guaranteed at all.

In the offseason, the Suns can carry 20-21 players depending on which source you read.

I have no idea why you like that dude. He does nothing for me. Would rather give minutes to Fleming or Oso

Precious is a solid rotation player who is capable of starting at forward or center.

On a roster full of unknowns, this is something to be valued.

I haven't watched Butler much at all, but his stats are respectable. The career assist to turnover ratio is 2.8 to 1.1.

When you watch film on him, he is a fairly methodical pg. nothing flashy.

Your #10 pick sure better play over your $5 mill guy in Richards. Also, Fleming over Oso in the rotation. It you all knew I would say that.

I would rather have Goodwin than a semi-retired CP3. I know what thing. This team is going to work hard, and they are going to be really annoying on D.

I would make Gillespie compete with these guys too. The best two get the roster spots. No free pass for Gillespie.

I forgot which podcast I was listening to, but he didn't get drafted here after a very goos college career. He went to Europe and worked on his body. Now they say he has an NBA body, and in the process became the Euroleague Finals MVP. He took less money to come to the Suns so his mother could see him play in the NBA. Supposedly his mother is loud at games and Nigel wants to hear her in the stands while playing.

Some fans are expecting too much out of him to start. He is really raw and doesn't have a strong grasp of the game yet. He'll need to be brought along slowly. Ott is going to want to win games, especially out of the gate. If Maluach looks like he did on summer league, he wont stay on the court.

Gillespie epitomizes what the Suns want in a hard worker and gritty player. This, plus his point guard and shooting skills have gotten him this far. I'm not concerned with him getting a free pass.

Let's hope Mark Williams stays healthy. It would be nice to put Maluach in situations where he can best succeed.

I wonder if Gambo is right and the Suns plan to start Jalen Green at point guard.

I'm thinking down the road. What will the Suns do next year? Sign Williams or go with the rookie. Hopefully it goes so well Williams gets assets or is to good to trade and Maluach plays well

It's hard to say. Depends upon how Maluach develops and what it takes to keep Williams who will become a RFA next season. The Suns will want to keep him or trade him and not lose assets for nothing.
