I do not know what to expect. The Shroeder stuff, LeBron leaving early, the AD injury, and the look on LeBron's face all lead me to believe even the Lakers are convinced this is over.

But that is probably just wishful thinking.

It is probably a blowout for the Suns or a Laker win.

These injuries to LeBron and AD have the potential to be bad. Keep playing on a bad ankle and you can pop an Achilles or snap an ACL. Same for AD and the groin issue. They know they could be jeopardizing next year.

Lakers are done - and they know it. Even if they somehow manage to win two in a row versus Phoenix, they aren't going to run the Denver/Utah-Clippers/Eastern Champ gauntlet. LeBron either wants a championship or nothing.

They won't want to push AD and risk an injury that could linger into next year.

Why would he do this now?

Dennis and Lebron were the only Lakers that hadn't been vaccinated. They both stepped out of line and only one of them was forced into Covid isolation. Dennis wasn't happy about the preferential treatment James was receiving in addition to some contract issues plus rumors that the Lakers almost traded him for Lowry. Also, a lot of fans and insiders are laying the blame for this series on his poor performance in some games.

I've read some of this stuff elsewhere but to be clear, this is JMO, neither proven nor well-sourced.

my guess is they are starting AD to trot him out and show the fans he's truly toast and shouldn't rip him for being a baby.

.... if AD comes out looking healthy in the first 10 seconds then oh shiii we got a different game.

I'd agree but he's all about his legacy and I'm not sure he'd willingly give up his perfect record, having never lost a first round series before.

Very well could be. Just weather the storm first 5 minutes of period one, settle in and just turn up the heat rest of way.

It would be nice if it worked this way but I expect tonight it will be a battle.

So the Lakers are gonna start everyone. Okay... if there was any “we got this!” Overconfidence coming from the blowout sans AD, with him in the lineup, we should be focused and ready.

kinda have no feel for what happens tonight.

Isolate guards on AD and force him to change direction . . . a LOT. Too bad Paul can’t get him to dance right now.

Portland is in control and likely looking at pushing that series to 7. For my nerves and CP3’s shoulder, PLEASE get this W tonight and give us both a break over the weekend!

I'm with you about Haliburton but James Jones traded for Chris Paul and signed Cam Payne out of the G-League.

What's the saying, two out of three ain't bad.

yeah but look what those two guys contracts will cost, when Halliburton would have had 4 years on a rookie deal.

Jokic plays like a machine. He is so good. Nuggets closing the gap.
