Easily against Portland. Denver is closer but we will be favored if we get there.

the defense in their series appears far worse however.

We are playing the #1 defense in the NBA. Both Denver and Portland were poor on defense this year. I suspect we would handle either team relatively easily (5-6 games).

If Denver had Murray it might be a different story.

Of course. But it doesn’t cost anything to speculate since we now know who our next opponent could be if we advance.

In fairness I said they "would" beat them. As in if they get past the Lakers.

It's easy to say now but I don't think we'd have had a problem with Portland, Denver is another matter. With Murray, I'd give them a solid advantage. With Murray out and CP somewhat compromised I really don't know who would have the advantage? I'm just glad we'll have home court against them if we do close out the Lakers.
