So you are saying he is mentally fragile.

I don't know I watch other teams and it sure seems like they make at least 60% of their open 3's. Suns seem to make about 30%
What? He's not saying that at all.

Suns perimeter defense has ALWAYS been bad. We switch all the time and people lose their guys. It has happened for literally YEARS.

Several actually.

I don't understand how a guy makes 85% of his 3's in warmups but constantly misses wide open ones in games.

True that, and this goes for free throws too. I understand there's fatigue and its a bit different than catching and shooting ( Books makes those without hesitation) but cmon, this is all you do all day everyday, is shoot. Your eyes should light up on those, not overthink it, no hesitation, just pure shooting.

Mark Williams did play better, but I am still expecting more.

He is a beast, we are still working him into the rotation. Just his random starts and non starts is the issue with getting him going with the better lineups. My issue is why isn't he starting, even if limited minutes, so that he can play with the better unit which he will eventually be playing with. @Hoop Head said it too, is why are we starting with Oso only to put us in a deficit to start games/halves.

right? williams can both start and be saved for the end - figuratively speaking of course

Jazz had 64 rebounds, the Suns 48. That's a difference maker.
In fact, that was one of the ways we were supposed to win games, by being the better rebounding team. It is acknowledged we won't be as good as other teams on offense, so getting more attempts was a key to victory.

Royce sagging too far and giving up the open three. How many more times... Give Livers and Fleming some of his minutes. Save O'Neale for crunch time.

Fleming would have probably fouled out and he is not nearly a finished product, but I thought the Suns might consider using him on defense against Markkanen.

Although, I thought the primary problem was the Suns style of defense. Markkanen was getting wide open looks off screens. IMO, a lot of that is coaching.

Allen and Oneale just cannot navigate screens. It was refreshing to see Livers, along with Dunn fight through and around screens. CG does his best too to slip them. We switch really slow, almost as if we are unsure we should be switching or not, then we get burned by a wide open 3.

I wrote that about O'Neale in the start of the recording I watched. He warmed up and provided some scoring, but having him and Allen as the secondary scorers is problematic. They're pretty good shooters but weak on defence and size-wise. Rotten game to get an L. Bah!

Give Fleming some minutes. If he fouls too much then sit him back down. Need to mix it up a bit. Livers was pretty good. Fleming should play in front of NHD at least.

I don't think man-to-man defense could be any worse. The Suns lack size beyond the center position. It needs to be addressed.

Markkanen seemingly could score at will with wide open looks.

Suns have to use more size at forward, playing against these big lineups.
Agreed. Why does Ott hesitate to throw in bigger guys. Seems he has studied Suns brand of basketball too closely. We don't have to jog out slow small guys that can shoot but not much else. Mix it up. Some bigs, some fast guys, a couple of shooters and a distributer who is not your clear cut star scorer. Hey, this sounds like a classic NBA lineup! How ott!

Yeah I think the switching with come with time. Williams can switch and no one needs to help inside when he's down there either. Same goes for Maluach but with Oso and a lesser extent Richards they need guys collapsing inside because the interior D sucks. That typically leaves a 3 in a corner or close to the hash.
