We tend to make huge comebacks against the Kings, but that was fun.

Loved the intensity from Brooks and he REALLY got into DeRozan's head, who is still such a great player.

The irony wasn't lost watching Brooks get under his skin and being happy about it, considering just a few years ago, many people on this board criticized the DA trade because it included "hothead" Grayson Allen.

I dont like this answer from him

It was the unvarnished truth by a rookie head coach, so I'm not going to read too much into it.

I thought the Suns were prepared to play, but it didn't translate in the first half of the game. The effort and philosophy were there and it finally paid off in the second half.

I took it as he didn't think we'd have to come back from 20 down in the first game of the season. Not that we were going to have it easy.

Have super low W/L expectations this year, but I just want to watch a team that gives a damn. After the past couple of seasons of truly boring apathetic ball I want to see energy. Saw it last night, hope it continues. Always hated Dillon Brooks but man does a team need a guy like that

Yes, I think the Suns were ready to play, maybe even overly prepared.

They exuded so much energy and seemed tight to open the game. I kept waiting for the effort to pay off and it finally did it in the second half.

The whole reason we got down was because Book was having such a terrible game, missing shots, missing free throws, missing assignments... He was gobbling up a lot of shot attempts with bricks.

The whole team was off, including Booker. That's why I thought the Suns were tight to open the game.

However, I the effort was there and it would eventually pay off, which it did.

Although I am happy with the win, I'm a little less hopeful for this team than I was before the game. But I have no idea what to really expect when Green gets healthy.

TL: DR - Mark Williams should have had a defensive 3 in the key, Zach Lavine's 3 was counted as a 2.

The 3 in the key call, meh, whatever. There are literally dozens of those calls that are ignored through a game on either side. The Lavine 3 was curious. They wanted the refs to look at it and they never showed a replay on broadcast where you can see his feet. I don't think it can be challenged but refs can stop play to review, and they should have. Not sure why they didn't.
