There is no excuse in the world why he isn't signed yet

Incompetence all through the FO

Totally inept

Monti needs to be proactive, not reactive
It’s fine. I’m not sweating it. Just like I wasn’t sweating the Will Johnson signing.

All this stuff will get done. No reason to get worked up about it.

With Brissett we are projected to win what, 4 games?
I’ve come to the conclusion let Beck start. If he succeeds ( miracles happen) then the 27 draft looks a lot different. If he fails, well, who cares? We are only going to win 3-4 games this year anyway.
Let’s see what he’s got.

Projected is the operative word. No one knows for sure. JB moved the ball with backup RB's, MHJ was out most of those games so he's throwing to two WR's.
Now, we've got a RB that is not only good, but can block and catch the ball. Remember when we first got Conner, all those one handed catches out in the flat with no one around him? JB connected with MHJ like 5 times in the Dallas game for big plays.
We're getting healthy defenders back. Hopefully we get the Rallis defense of '24 back.
All the projections are based on last year's play adjusted with draft additions for everyone. It takes around week 4 or 5 to determine who's for real and who's fake. I'm actually looking forward to the upcoming season.

me too. just cant talk about it here.
But last year we were projected to win 10... but the psyche of the team fell off the rails in the first month...then injuries blasted us. This is that same team, with additions, and hopefully a repaired psyche...it could be worth watching

I would like JB to start the season if healthy. If not go with the stach for about 4 or 5 games and then if we're 2-2 or better they keep starting. The minutes they fall below .500 after 4 games or so I go with Beck (if healthy).

The only way I go to Beck that early is if he shows a strong understanding of the offense which I doubt will happen that quickly. I'm not throwing him to the wolves that early if I don't think he is ready. I could see him getting a shot sometime after the midway point of the season. Maybe earlier if they bring him in for mop-up duty during a game that is a total blowout to get him some game day experience under center.

No matter when they start Beck, and at some point he will start, he is going to suffer growing pains. Whether it’s game 1,3,6,8 or 10.

If we don’t come out of this season knowing whether Beck is a legitimate starting qb it will be an epic failure.

False. He should be viewed as a long term backup unless he shows otherwise in training camp, the preseason, and what reps he has during inseason practices.

This is nearly as deranged as needing to know what Clayton Tune had as a prospect. They knew very quickly.

Fully agree...
the thing is, the NFL learns... its very likely he comes in and plays fairly well for a few weeks.
what we need to see is how well he plays after DC's across the league have a full set of tape on him...after they make adjustments can he still move the ball?? Can he adjust his own game to counter how they chose to counter him?? Thats what we need to know....without that information the pick was a failure.
the only way we dont need that information is if they eat him alive without even having to make adjustments for him.

Between camp and preseason, MLF better have a pretty good idea what Beck has or doesn't have. Then down the line it's up to him to scheme plays for him to succeed if and when he's in there staring at a bunch of 6'5" drooling defensive players coming at him for his first professional hit....maybe good couching would be " don't scream out in pain" the first time.

Very plausible and I could live with any of these scenarios.
