It's not that dialogue is useless it's that repeating the same dialog multiple times is useless. It's that repeating the same dialog multiple times is useless. It's that repeating the same dialog multiple times is useless. It's that repeating the same dialog multiple times is useless. Every one of these episodes could have been tightened up by 10-15 minutes.
I never really noticed

Alright finally watching the last season.

Steve Harrington better not die and finally get a gf
I can’t even bring myself to start it. It’s been so long since the last season that I don’t remember Jack crap and I don’t feel like re-watching. Lol

Eh, it was okay.

After the action was done, having nearly an hour of wrap up was freaking boring. Some of it was very satisfying, the rest meh. Way too long, which was a theme in the last episode drop (3-7). The ending also undermined the moment of sacrifice with the "is she dead or not?" wishy washy stuff.

Not a bad finale (nothing as awful as St. Elsewhere), but they certainly didn't knock it out of the park.

It was too long but I actually really liked the finale. We didn't get home from dinner until after 10 so I watched it and then went to bed. There was a couple of points where I thought that's a great way to end it solid work and then it kept going. The first time I liked what they added the 2nd time I thought wasn't necessary. I kept waiting for a clue that there would be a spinoff or a movie or something there's a few ways they can do that obviously but I kind of doubt they will. the most obvious character for that the actor seems like probably wouldn't be interested in doing that.

I thought the final song played was just brilliant song choice. Don't want to spoil it but just perfect

the battle with the BBEG made me understand why the finale was in theaters...would have been amazing in IMAX...a bit much on the sniff sniff stuff so I tuned out until the party was in the basement...but then Mike stood on the steps and watched the next generation get hooked on D&D...and an old grognard lost it a little bit...

very cool finale, even if the kids were thirty

I'm an old school toxically masculine grumpy redneck.....
Dudes coming out party kinda made me misty eyed.

Wait a minute! Digging an underground tunnel is easy work?

Also Linda Hamilton is not my favorite

Here is the thing: shooting a shotgun at Vecna is a silly thing to do. The Army should know. They are definitely Empire Storm Troopers and can’t aim

Other than the fight scene and the basement ending the finale was a dud, they played it way too safe.

Too much exposition once again.

Why was Kay and the military even in it? They did nothing and had no effect on anything. When there was an hour left after the big fight I figured they'd do something to wrap up this thread. Instead they just disappeared and we got draw out sap that should have been 10-15 min. max.

Did anyone not see the El ending coming? As soon as Kali was shot. I had it playing out slightly differently though, it might have since the end was Mike speculating. She was never shot. The guy jerked and miss due to the explosion but she used her power to make it look like she had been. That allowed her to cover for both herself and El to escape.

My big what the heck from it was Max, who was my favorite character. She ended season 4 in a "coma" and then 18 months to season 5, and then season 5 until late when she came to. How in the world did she graduate with her friends? They even joked about it in one scene with her in the school commenting how long it had been since she'd been in school.

All downhill after season 1, sprinkled with some decent/good stuff. I'll give this one a 7.5, since we know it can always be a lot worse.

Looking at you GoT. Your shame shall continue for generations.

I was reading that the guy who played Henry is expected to be nominated for several awards. Never really thought about it since he's a bad guy but he really was very good in that role

He was probably the best part of this season. He did a great job. Getting that makeup done can't be fun either. I'm assuming it was mostly practical effects like it was in S4.

One thing that I really liked that they did was not make him sympathetic or have him turn and fight the mind flayer at the end. I was afraid they might pull that during the cave scene but it was great to see him own his evil by saying that he wants to be with the flayer and wasn't being used. I'm tired of the sympathetic bad guy trope that's been happening. It's nice to see bad guys being bad.
