the top runningback in the league should be paid as much as the top receiver - each are equally important - runningback maybe even more so - i know this is a qb thread but these are my thoughts

The Jets will annihilate any of our offers. They smartly blew up their team cause they weren’t going anywhere.
Thats probably true. But its the J-E-T-S Jets...
really good chance they will jump on the bandwagon and go after a more mobile guy...because a QB running for his life is exciting and sells tickets.....?

just gotta remember...the best player does not always go higher in the draft...and teams/GM's have their own personal preferences likes and dislikes...

Ryan Leaf went ahead of Peyton Manning....and the 1-2 debate was still heated the day of the draft...half the NFL world thought Leaf the better prospect.

the jets traditionally go pocket passer...Darnold was probably their most mobile QB pick in decades and he isnt a head turner on the scramble.

But with the trend leaning to more mobile guys...and mobile guys these days actually being legit "double threat" guys...I would not be surprised to see the Jets break their mold and go after a guy with scrambling on his resume

Mendoza likely nailed down the top spot. I’m hearing the Titans are asking a early first swap in 2026 & a 2027 first & a first or second in 2028. Someone figures to pay that. Mendoza has dramatically increased his stock after last night. He’s tough, durable, composed, agile and throws all 3 levels of the tree with touch.
I would offer up

Az Cardinals 2026 first round pick
Az Cardinals 2027 first round pick
Az Cardinals 2027 third round pick
Full Rights to Kyler Murray

That a first, a third, and Murray to make the swap.

we might have to add more to get them to absorb his contract though.

focusing draft comp on 27 because they are flush in 26...and that would give them options in 27 if the 26 season proves to them kyler cant be their guy

but the Jets really like their vet QB's

Not true. He went #2 overall to the pick the Cardinals owned but was traded to the Chargers.

try to find a better option than brissett in free agency and fix the line - if the qb survives we can draft a qb in 2027 lol

Both lines need help. The O-line needs another IOL and a right tackle, and the D-line needs an interior guy and an edge rusher. Dalvin Thomlinson has been a disappointment and Calais most likely isn't returning.

Why in the world would the Titans even have a passing interest in Murray?

Man, in hindsight, we were idiots not to go after Darnold.
Contract-wise they couldn’t pay 3 QBs. The Cards will be in contract hell based on dumping Murray now. Last year would have been worse.

Unlikely because of Bidwill but completely doable if the Cardinals wanted to. Sometimes you have to make hard choices than force you to give up a little more than you want. Loser teams stay losing because they don't place enough importance on getting the QB position right. It's why the Rams are good. They ate the turd sandwich to get Stafford, and it didn't impact them in the way the naysayers said it would.

How? Show me the “completely doable numbers.”

I made the comment about Dante Moore before and how many UCLA fans don't like the kid because of NIL and what he did to and at UCLA. Turns out I am not alone. Troy Aikman the other day said he will never write another check for NIL. He'd done it at UCLA, wrote a check to a kid, I won't name him, he played one year at UCLA then moved on to another school got a big NIL there and never said a word, not a thank you note, email nothing.

It's widely assumed amongs UCLA people that Aikman is talking about Dante Moore and that people who were around him at UCLA were really put off by the kid. They all saw talent yes but he just seemed to be completely about the money. AS soon as his season went south they felt like Moore spent more time worrying about where he was going to go next than he did about improving as a player.

FYI the joke among UCLA fans is that Dante did try to reach out to Aikman but the thank you note got intercepted and returned for a TD.

It'll be interesting to see if he comes out do NFL teams care about that?

Seems like this offer would get it done.

Yes, they will. It will not cause a draft slide, because he is so talented (and, even if he comes out, the QB pool to choose from is small), so it will be brushed aside by most teams as youth mistakes or evil rumors. But it will certainly be a topic. What happens after he has gotten his first check?

"If I want to keep doing this, I have to have fun doing it,” Burrow said at one point. “You know, I’ve been through a lot. And if it’s not fun, what am I doing it for?”
He then was asked whether it’s currently difficult to have fun.

“Yes, certainly,” he said.

“There’s just a lot of things going on right now,” Burrow said. “A lot of things going on right now.”

Football related or personally?

“All of the above,” Burrow said.
Send an offer of three first-round picks and Murray (and pay half his salary) and see if the Bengals bite.

I posted similar earlier, to some skepticism, that I was hearing these rumblings. While not doing active scouting I’m still in some interesting email groups. This is real.

There is little morality in the NIL world. Most view it as a paycheck so thank you’s aren’t common. It’s not charity. It’s pay for play. As to changing schools, it’s just college free agency. No one holds this against athletes. For the most part all football beyond high school has a major “just business” component.
