It doesn't matter what you or I would do.I’ll give up demeanor for a big arm. Lots of surly QBs who are hard to like Rodgers.

Status, Dad’s worth an estimated $15 milthen why did he need top NIL money?
That’s true but I don’t see many morality statements coming from NFL front offices. It doesn't matter what you or I would do.
but wouldnt top 5 draft pick and a $30-$45mm guaranteed contract deliver StatusStatus, Dad’s worth an estimated $15 mil
The question was if it would have been financially doable to sign Darnold with Murray...the answer to that is yes. There wasn't a discussion about other factors.Doubtful Darnold would've come to Arizona to compete with Murray for the same price as having the starting job handed to him in Seattle.
Reality, with this roster, Darnold would look like he was when he was on the Jets. The question was if it would have been financially doable to sign Darnold with Murray...the answer to that is yes. There wasn't a discussion about other factors.
So you're saying that the Cardinals could've realistically signed Darnold to compete with Murray for the same contract that he signed with Seattle? Or was that, in fact, NOT a legitimate option? The question was if it would have been financially doable to sign Darnold with Murray...the answer to that is yes. Sources indicate it was also financially possible to trade a 7th for Saquan Barkley. HahaSo you're saying that the Cardinals could've realistically signed Darnold to compete with Murray for the same contract that he signed with Seattle? Or was that, in fact, NOT a legitimate option?
You would have likely had to choose between them vs having them both on the roster. Also financially doable. So you're saying that the Cardinals could've realistically signed Darnold to compete with Murray for the same contract that he signed with Seattle? He was so highly touted before the year started. He was mostly awful to average all year. He has incredible tools. He is athletically as gifted as a Caleb Williams.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
He should transfer to a school with better QB training. He was so highly touted before the year started. He was mostly awful to average all year. He has incredible tools. He is athletically as gifted as a Caleb Williams.
Going back to school was a no brainer. He will make several million.
He's going #1 for sure.Mendoza scores a Heisman.
That increases his chances at being a Raider
Can only pray he doesn't go to the Jets. He's going #1 for sure.
I'd say he's more athletically gifted than Williams but he's a lot more rawHe was so highly touted before the year started. He was mostly awful to average all year. He has incredible tools. He is athletically as gifted as a Caleb Williams.

And a PR slam dunk opportunity reminiscent to 1981 for the team that signs him. He's going #1 for sure.
He's my guy. You go up and you get this kid. He's up before morning practices and school studying film, then throwing before school, then practicing and doing the rest after school? Notice there's nothing about skipping or skimping on school, either, which goes to his character. He has every single intangible you want in a QB, and the tangibles are there as well. To bookend the post, he's my guy.And a PR slam dunk opportunity reminiscent to 1981 for the team that signs him.
Harrison first. The NFL’s own site said, “What makes him tough to handle is his consistent play speed paired with quality salesmanship in his routes.” He didn’t and IMO doesn’t have a route problem. As to Murray you are 100% correct. He was drafted knowing he had serious issues that could be corrected. He was a great athlete with a record of winning. He also fit Kingsbury’s desired style of play. I’m not certain if the Cards actually addressed Murray’s issues or just assumed he could win in spite of them. Sometimes he actually did. I’m also not certain how reluctant Murray might have been to change. Having been a fan of the Cards for 60+ years I must say they’ve selected an amazing array of bad QBs. They’ve also had enough bad coaching to injure some potentially good ones. Beyond Mendoza there certainly are reasonable concerns about all the QBs.I hear comments about potential early round QB draft picks having mechanics issues. Tonight I heard discussion of Vikings fixing McCarthy's mechanics in off season. Murray has awful footwork and throws deep passes with a windup like he is throwing a baseball. How do so many people play a position basically from out of diapers to present and suck at their position? I hear people say Harrison's route running is not very good. How is this possible when he has an NFL Hall of Famer father and played position right out of diapers? I would never draft a player early in the draft who has issuse with the fundamentals of the position. It tells me they are lazy. Is amateur coaching really that bad? NFL teams used to expect college QBs to run pro style offenses but now you are seeing NFL teams run college offenses to ease the learning curve for their QBs. If I was the parent of a high school QB I would pay what ever I needed to pay to make sure my son was coached to properly play the position. I would find someone who knows how to play the position to coach him up. Peyton Manning used to run a QB academy. The KC Royals of the 1970s which were a domininate team ran a baseball academy and many of the players on their 70s teams were graduates. Seems like an opportunity for some retired QBs. If I was a kid and they talked about my playing at major college level I would spend my time learning the position and not so much what is being taught in class. I dont think there are any QBs in this class who should be drafted early in first round. First round at all is a stretch. Murray has set the Big Red back almost a decade. Picking the wrong QB because you are expected to do it is worse then passing on the QB.
