I have a really good source on Simpson. My next door neighbor was an assistant on Saban's staff ay Alabama. He left and came to Tennessee Martin and is now on Coach Simpson's staff at UTM. He hasn't yet told me if he knows if he will come out this year. I think I will find that out soon but I don't want to appear that I'm probing for information. It's pretty fascinating some of the things he has told me about working for Saban. The amazing thing is Simpson's younger brother is even better than him. He set the state record last year in the state playoffs with 620 yards passing and 8 touchdowns in the game.
I was standing in the front yard talking to my neighbor a while back when a UPS truck pulled up and dropped off a package. He said to look at this. He opened the box and it had his SEC championship ring in it. He said he has 3 other ones to go with it

Last years QB Milroe came out in the draft this year because all of the wide receivers told the coach they would all transfer if he stayed. Evidently the ball he threw was hard to catch because of the weird spin he put on it

His completion % is marginal. TDs to ints ratio is poor. His performance has declined slightly without more dominant performances. He likely plays in one of the all star games. He’ll have to impress big time to get draft on Day 3. He seems to have enough tools, but will require extensive development.
Thanks!

I am right next to ya in mayfield Kentucky….my nephew played baseball with Ty Simpson…..

I used to be the sales manager at the Chevy dealership in Fulton many years ago with the Seay's

When I lived in Nashville 20 years ago, my ex was from Hickman, so we'd drive up there all the time.

Hickman is in the middle of nowhere, my mother was from Clinton. The most nowhere place I've ever been was Bardwell KY. If you wanted to bury a body that would be the place

Manning, Reed and Simpson are not going to enter the draft. I think Dante Moore won't either.
In 2027 Simpson would be a 24.5-year old rookie. If we are just assuming that it will be a strong quarterback-class that year, something like that could cost him many draft-slots.

That leaves Mendoza and Beck as the two most NFL ready. Mendoza will go #1. After that it's a real crap shoot. Once again, we appear to really need to draft a QB in exactly the wrong year to do so. Personally, I take Pavia over Beck, but people will say I am crazy. Which I probably am.
Don’t count out Jayden Maiava from USC. I think he could surprise people.

Yeah, Maiva could be a climber once the workout season starts. For sure.

As for Simpson, Penix Jr was a 24 year old rookie as well. And he did well in the draft. And I would guess Simpsons draft rating from scouts would probably be higher than Penix. Not many QBs with only one year under their belt in college have done well in the NFL. Hence, the speculation he stays. But, who knows until he says so one way or another?

I think the majority of draft eligible QBs -- Dante Moore, Jayden Maiava, Arch Manning -- come out this year

plenty of demand in the top 10 -- and even at 10th: its $23mm guaranteed. NIL isnt touching that

If I had a choice from that list I'd go with Sellers. If by some miracle we're able to trade Murray. Have Sellers do the Mahomew treatment. Sit him behind Brissett for one year to develop.

If Manning came out and dropped some he might go to a better team this year.

Harry what do you think about the Illinois qb?
UDFA. He couldn’t beat out the guys at Miss to start. He has a marginal completion %. He has toughness, but sometimes that leads him to hold the ball too long. Only average arm strength, speed and agility. Not enough stands out. A good, steady guy who likely end up as one of those 3rd QBs who only plays in preseason. Someone will sign him. I just think his ceiling is too low.
