I generally think if we like him, others like him too... especially at QB

I read, before the injury, the Steelers were a team that had interest in him.

It's hard to know if Leavitt stays in the draft or returns to ASU. A lot will depend on his recovery and medical evaluations.

Reports indicate he will be out somewhere in the order of 6 months. My guess is he will fall in the draft if he enters. Where, I don't know.

I doubt Allar comes out this year.
its a gamble for him. He has the prototype stature. He can make all the NFL throws. He plays for a top program against top competition....and right now, even though his game has been less than impressive, he has a slight benefit of the doubt in regards to everyone knowing he was playing for a horrendous QB killing coach.

if he stays another year at Penn state...and he fails with a new coach...dude is cooked...we are talking like 6th or 7th round pick at best type cooked.

Even though his top 10 pick chances are pretty much dead he still has the chance to get drafted late first or early second once everything is factored in...in order to get back into the top 10 discussion he is gonna have to kill it with whoever turns out to be the HC next season.

its a big gamble for the kid. 2026 might still be his best draft option...with a plan to just prove it in the pros and aim for that second contract.

removing his Penn State stink, so he is remembered as a college hero could play into it I guess.

Dante Moore has the best ball placement in this group. He understands the importance of routes and YAC. He throws receivers open and can make big throws under pressure. He doesn’t have as much starting experience as some would like. It seems forgotten he started games at UCLA before becoming a backup at Oregon. He’s not much of a runner, but will run when necessary. His frame suggests he may be prone to injury. He oddly gets overanxious on short throws, but that should correctable. Theoretically he could return to school. Big NIL money to do so. Top 5 picks

I wanted to post the master throw he made last game. That might be one of the best throws I have ever seen, and it was even in the most pressured moment. If he doesn't make that throw, Oregon loses. That is a big boy throw. I am very skeptical based on his lack of experience (sure he started at UCLA, but only five games), but I obviously also see the talent.

One thing I think is very important to remember is that many analysts expect the 2027 quarterback class to be very impressive. Do Moore and Simpson want to risk that someone overtake their expected draft position?

Brendan Sorsby is not on most lists. I think he’ll surprise people. He’s very polished. He reads defenses as good as anyone in this class. He possess advanced skills like moving safeties with his eyes. He’s the best at using progressions. He has a strong arm, easily making deep throws. He throws few interceptions yet he’s not afraid to take chances. He’s capable of running for big plays. Hasn’t faced the best competition. Round 2
Really, you think so? I have been following Sorsby for a long time, and I am obviously not the only one. I think he ends up going round one. People are sleeping on him for now, but I think that will change leading up to the draft.

I doubt Allar comes out this year.

I've seen a lot of speculation about several QB's not coming out this year (Moore, Sellers, Allar etc) for various reasons, for most of them due to poor years or not being ready. And that makes sense.

But the 2027 QB class is supposed to strong and all these guys returning would mean some of them may well go lower than they would this year in a weaker class.

Will be interesting to see what actually happens.

I also learned Allar is out of eligibility. Faux pas on my part.

Round 1 is stretch but there are couple of people who love him. Some have him later than 2, but I suspect they haven’t seen enough of him.

Allar has little option unless granted an injury year. The 2 are possible but if Moore continues to hold a top 5 prediction, he’ll come out IMO.

i like leavitt and might be with you on this if the cardinals could develop a quarterback

im giving up on drafting a qb - screw trading picks to move up only to screw it up

all of our success has come from veteran qbs who come in and we let them do their thing

trade whatever it takes to get a burrows or stafford type stuck on some team worse than ours - our roster is as decent as it's been in years minus monti's malodorous o-line
I want so badly to agree with you. I'm just so jealous of the teams like the Patriots who have their young stud with nothing but room for improvement.

Allar is out of eligibility so he has no choice but to enter the draft. That said, it will be interesting to see how he performs at the combines. This will be his one chance to show his worth. Too bad he got hurt right before PSU jettisoned Franklin, the consummate QB killer. It would have been interesting to see how he performed the balance of the year with the ear worm Franklin gone.

I, too, worry about the Cardinals recognizing and developing young quarterback talent.

A veteran quarterback might be the way to go for them. However, if Leavitt (injury) stays in the draft, I'd take a flyer on him later if he is still there.

JMHO, but if he were healthy, he is 1st or 2nd round talent.
I'd be very surprised to see him come out - without a 1st or 2nd round guarantee and with at least 2M in NIL, he'd be far better served staying another year in college. He's not ready for the NFL.

It makes sense for him to stay in college if the NIL money is there. Prior to the injury, I do think he was ready for the NFL, although an unpolished version.

Yeah, I think he needs another year of seasoning...he was very inconsistent this year.

Rough AZ game for Sorsby, but remember we’re not talking about year one starters. We’re looking at skills and potential. He’s not on my list, but Reed from TAM had a terrible first half, but a solid second half.

LSU finally revealed Nussmeier‘s injury is to his Oblique. If you’re not familiar with that injury it’s more frequent to baseball. It occurs when swinging the bat super hard or pitchers overthrowing their fastball. It’s ended seasons, tending to linger or be re-injured. Playing through it would be hard to imagine because of the danger of making it worse. That has likely now happened. You could throw out this season since it started preseason. If you go back to last year’s performance you see round 1 talent. Don’t be shocked if he goes at the end of the round 1. He won’t get by round 2 in my opinion.

I watched the Alabama QB play against a very good defense yesterday.

He has some tools and wasn't terrible, but he doesn't really look like a top ten pick to me. Not nearly as good as Tua or Burrow when they were in college for example.
