Read an article on how great Beck was doing with cadence. It talked about how he was far more ready than other rookie QBs. All this is true. My concern is none of this is connected to why Beck was not my choice. IMO it’s all about poise. Yes arm strength is a concern, but in the end can he perform under pressure? There won’t be an answer to my question until Beck plays in a meaningful game and is pressed. Poise can be acquired, but it’s not common. Admittedly I’m not optimistic. I do, however, accept I could be wrong. I do believe those who have overcome this concern have done so gradually. The Cards have a vastly changed Oline. It will take time for them to play well as a unit. It’s not sure thing they become functional. The Cards should see how they progress before pushing Beck to start. Let him play a down here and there. If the line settles in maybe chance him in late season games to see what the Cards actually have. In this case patience really is a virture.
