I was tired of Murray and his agent's antics. Good riddance! He may surprise us and play the whole season and take them to the playoffs but I don't care. We needed to move on.
Yes. He was not going to do what he is going to do in Minnesota with this team. He will have a great season but he wore out the mat here. And kinda good for all parties all around.

Hope Beck starts before the end of the season so that fans will know if he has a future with the team. Pretty sure JB starts the season and most of the games. The better JB plays, the fewer games for Beck.

I don’t think Brissett has that much he can teach Beck. Used to be that rookies coming into the league had to adjust to the money, fame, and lifestyle. Now they get all that in college.
brissett is beloved in the lockeroom - receiving unit knows how he sacrifices his body in the pocket and what that does for their pockets - brissett is always texting with his receivers about both football and as friends- building solid relationships on top of the trust he's gained on the field - he never lost the team even after going 1-11

i hope beck can learn from brissett

He starts by week 10 because we’re well out of contention, by week 13 he is back on the bench out of fairness to the other players.

But Brissett is a backup, nothing more. Not starter money

Hmmm, let's see. This year, the cardinals stated that JB would be the starter this season. Soooo, exactly who is he backing up?
He's not going to get 20m but he should be able to discuss a possible increase.

OMG, I think I'm turning into K9....but without all the stats...but with all my hair...:( :)

Has Beck completely rehabbed that gruesome arm injury? Perhaps physically---but the mental side of seeing bone and shredded skin is another matter. It might be wise to ease him into the pro-game.

Or maybe not??? Do Cards fans realize that he stayed in uniform and went back into the game with a broken elbow for the game-winning hand off.

Don't let K9 know that he gave me the angry emoji...LOL
I'm just glad I didn't mention that I need a haircut ;)
57 and full head of hair. Mothers father was still getting perms in his 80s (I kids you not). And male pattern baldness I believe follows the maternal genetics. I’m not even that grey other than my beard.

Read an article on how great Beck was doing with cadence. It talked about how he was far more ready than other rookie QBs. All this is true. My concern is none of this is connected to why Beck was not my choice. IMO it’s all about poise. Yes arm strength is a concern, but in the end can he perform under pressure? There won’t be an answer to my question until Beck plays in a meaningful game and is pressed. Poise can be acquired, but it’s not common. Admittedly I’m not optimistic. I do, however, accept I could be wrong. I do believe those who have overcome this concern have done so gradually. The Cards have a vastly changed Oline. It will take time for them to play well as a unit. It’s not sure thing they become functional. The Cards should see how they progress before pushing Beck to start. Let him play a down here and there. If the line settles in maybe chance him in late season games to see what the Cards actually have. In this case patience really is a virture.

I disagree that they were a playoff caliber team. They should have won more games, but they came out of the gates and looked pretty lousy while healthy, we won 2 games against two awful teams, scraping by, lost to the Niners when they already were a MASH unit, then had maybe the ugliest loss I've ever seen against the Titans.
We absolutely should have lost the Saints AND Panthers games.

Didn't realize how thick his lower body is. I thought he was more Rosen.

I posted this conspiracy somewhere.
I believe Beck will be placed on IR with an “ injury”. He won’t return until week 6. If things go south as most predict, he will come back and sit for 2 weeks allowing him to take reps with the starters. He could start week 9.

This allows the o-line to develop some continuity as well as the offense to settle in. It means we wouldn’t carry 3qb’s on game day roster.
It also allows us to deal Brissett or Minshew.

Throwing Beck out there week 1 will destroy the locker room and the veteran’s belief in the commitment to winning.
