Thats your view of clubs and student organizations? HS & College mustve SUUUCKED hard for you.
The SB club at ASU is outstanding. case in point they got the GM of the AZ cards to come in and speak...
I went to the intro meeting last semester but couldnt find time to go every week due to pledging a frat. They had a pretty good lineup, but its clear that they really stepped it up this semester.
Im so flippin jelly bro, I knew about Graves coming because Prof Eaton (i guess hes the prez of the SBC?) told us about it. Plugging the club for the first week of class. Second he said Graves was coming I was like "Oh...snap!". But I had to work
lol all I can pciture of a Graves QnA at ASU would be 100 guys telling him how to run his team. I for one wouldve asked "Why does Horton insist on making PP play zone D when hes known for being the best press coverage CB in college?"
Also wouldve asked about next years draft, if we are going after Levis replacement (perfect time to ask that after he said LB is a bust) or if we will go after a pass rusher.
Did anyone ask about pass rush? Whether he thinks any of our guys look to be sufficient or if we must go get one in the draft. Anyone ask about Adubs future replacement (drafting a SS)? Since he was being so open I wouldve asked why he passed on a few guys in this years draft. Like Mark Herz. Between him and Quan, i wouldve taken Mark. Wouldve asked why he went with DA over Leinart. Matt was terrible and threw the ball 5 yards at a time, but at least he could make a completition. No doubt in my mind we wouldve been better off with ML than DA. Ask did they ever 'consider' sticking with skelton, take a dive this season and go get Luck (that wouldve been a real test of his openess and honesty). Wouldve asked why they were so quick to let Breaston go. Ask about exactly how involved they were in trying to get NNamdi - yes they 'were in it' but were they 100% effort or just half assed? Any FA they legit tried to get (that we didnt know about) that just didnt happen?
^^See, this is why im so mad at missing that and why everyone who was there should be thrilled I wasnt there. "Mr Graves..yeah, hi, i have 6 comments and 9 questions. first off.." lol
Im not really suprised he was so frank. Thats why im SOOO mad i didnt get to go. He was in front of a bunch of students, not reporters. Im sure it felt good to speak his mind for once and not give scripted non-answers.
