Grain of salt here, but a buddy of mine knows a guy. Says Cardinals are looking to trade Kyler to the Jets for a 6th. Cards take a 20m cap hit for the trade. Friend's buddy knows someone in the front office, and told him about the Benson IR a day in advance.
Why would they do that? Makes zero sense to sell so low.

there's been a vibe - gannon afraid to praise brissett too much while coach speaking the kyler on a pedestal - murray hasn't been infront of a camera since october 5th - his best friend paris didn't say it plain as day but made it sound like it might be brissett in dallas - i think it's obvious kyler wants to play in dallas especially with brissett coming for his job - if he doesn't already have it that is

I just cant see kyler accepting a benching with him not demanding a trade or cleaning all arizona post from ig or something. No way Gannon can keep playing if he looks like how he has this season

If you're going to sell Kyler, a bad 7th year player on an expensive contract, thats what you're going to get.

Geno got sold for a 3rd, but despite how bad hes been this season Geno from 2022-2024 performed worlds better than Kyler

The reason they would do it is they want a chance to offload Kyler's contract for next year. That or they think Jacoby gives them a better chance to win.

Accepting, as if there is anything he could do beyond pitch a fit, whine, and sulk.

Not gonnna happen not for a sixth and nor should it
Thats say the options are:

Keep him through his contract

Trade him for a day 3 pick and contract relief next year

Cut him and receive absolutely nothing.

What would you prefer?

Take the 6th and run. Cut your losses. He's not garnering a 3rd anytime. A street UFA is playing the position just as well, if not better. If you'd take a 6th for Brissett, you may as well take a 6th for Kyler.

Keeping him doesn't stop the drafting of his replacement, so I'd see still keep him. If he starts to play better and the team is better, you can get more than a day 3 in the off season. If he doesn't, you can still get that day 3 in the off season. Basically nothing is going to make his value worse at this point.
