Those are pretty good - and yes, the selling points.

I was reading something the other day about men that get married 3/4/5 times - and why women marry someone with that track record.

A couple things stood out - the first is a general observation that applies to many situations: When you are close to a situation, the negatives stick out, and that is what colors your perception - For Murray, the nine good plays are forced out of your thinking by the one bad play, and that is what you remember. When you are on the other side, it is the opposite - the spectacular plays - the scrambles, the Hail Murray, the stuff that makes the highlight reels - that is what you remember.

Second is that people (and women when it comes to men) overestimate their ability to "fix things". They will look at the failure and says "bad system, bad ownership" (or in the case of a man "former wife was a B that didn't appreciate him" etc.



tl;dr: There will be teams/GM's/Coaches that will overlook the negatives and overestimate their ability to fix Murray's mistakes. They will see the talent, and ignore his weaknesses.

Kyler needs to move on. I think he has a chance to do great things, but it won’t be here. He’s been here 7 years.

Im inclined to extend Gannon. Even though the teams record with Jacoby at the helm has been dog water, it’s been noticeably more effective.

This gd franchise needs a 10-15 yr rebuild of everything. It’s fun to blame players and coaches, look at only the right now, etc., but this organization needs a comprehensive audit.

If he kicks our ass playing the brand of football that we've become accustomed to from him, Ill take the loss. I just don't want to watch his style of football anymore. If it's successful elsewhere, well then we confirm what we already know. We are a crap football organization.

To some extent, I understand what @speedy is saying. Gannon is in the last year of his deal. So if he stays and gets a new QB either of these scenarios could occur:

#1. Gannon has a decent season and as a free agent coach, gets a big offer from another team.

#2. Gannon is terrible and is allowed to walk.

In either situation, you are risking the next coach to be stuck with a 2nd year QB.

Kind of a rinse / repeat of the current situation.

Kyler Shanahan is 13-7 without Prudy since he became the starter.
Nearly identical sample size.

Shanahan has a career .551 career winning percentage over all and 13-7 is a .650 winning percent. He won games with Trey Lance , C.J. Beathard and Nick Mullens, but JG managed to go 1-9 with Jacoby! JG needs to go! Heck, only the 49ers can rival our injuries this year and they are still 11-4 and going 5-3 with their backup QB.

Honestly when was the last time this happened? If he starts off well you can always extend him in November; these guys want consistency and the difference between the 8th and 5th highest HC contract isn’t great.

People forget that the dream quarterbacks for these Shanahan/McVay disciples are Kirk Cousins and Jimmy Garappolo.
