I'm pretty sure he or anyone with that last name would be welcomed back in Cardinal land.

I'm sure you meant to say "would NOT be welcomed back". Mike B. would probably tar and feather him and ride him out on a rail.

I hope the cards try to keep him but doubt they can match a hc job though.

I think Mike B is smart enough and man enough to move beyond Buddyball and give Rex a chance.

So you are saying it's manly NOT to hold a grudge and Mike should just accept the fact that Buddy ripped this team apart, traded or let loose our top offensive players to build his defense and put the Cards in cap hell for the next 4 or 5 years? You have a much different interpretation of manliness than I do.

Lol: maybe he'll finally convince Keith Butler to take the position AZ if Bowles Bails.

That was like 20 years ago. Why would mile hold it against Rex that's just dumb

Agree. If Ryan is the best guy, something his dad did 20 years ago should not be an issue.

I think his and Arians personalities match up well too. I'd take him in a second. He's about the best DC out there.

That said, I don't think Bowles is going anywhere.

Holding a grudge isn't manly...rising above and doing what's best, is. Mike B wasn't in charge during Buddyball...he'd only be holding a grudge because of his father. Rex and Rob were just assistant coaches for their dad back then, too. Why hold them accountable for the sins of the father? If Mike B cares about winning, he will put the best person in the position, regardless of the past. IMO Rex is very different from his father, anyway...Rob, on the other hand, is a different story. Lastly, just look at the Raiders and all of the Gruden speculation...He wanted out, so badly, even after going to the AFC Championship game, because he hated big Al. Now their is a ton of speculation that he may go back there.

I predict whoever we hire will be lambasted as totally unqualified when he gets here. and if he does a bad job everyone will say I told you so, and if he does a good job they will act like they never said it.

Michael Bidwill may be "man enough" but I don't think Rex Ryan is.

If I recall, Rex has not had good things to say about the organization since they sent his family packing. The Ryans don't seem to have the "forgiveness gene" in their DNA package.

Probably not going to happen.

This is the post that ends the thread. Anyone that knows the history here knows the above is the reason it wont happen.

I don't think Bowles will get a HC job very soon. People thought Ray Horton deserved a HC job but he's absolutely sucked since leaving Arizona granted he doesn't have much to work with now.

Bowles wasn't very good before coming to Arizona either. Teams might look at Cards defensive coordinators and think that their only good in the system that the Cardinals have. Of course this is good for Arizona since they won't have to worry about finding a new DC.

I think the defensive coordinator most likely to get a HC job from the NFC West has to be Vic Fangio.

I think we should... PAY BOWLES A TON OF MONEY and he will not leave, look at his comments and he is very apprehensive about being a head coach unless it is a perfect situation
