@kerouac9 likes to blame Monti, but its Keim's QB that is starting. Is it wrong to ask for grace towards Monti with a QB who had a contract he cant get out from under?

He built a roster for a QB thats not Kyler Murray. Only fair to really judge him once he has a QB thats not Kyler Murray.

Uh, Monti hired the coaches.

Froholdt melted down mentally today. He made some killer mistakes along with my least favorite Monti player ever - Isaiah Adams

The lack of urgency to win football games by Monti in 2023 was represented today. It all starts from the top.

Hyper critical by a mile, I could list good to amazing players such a PJ, Garrett, Sweat but we are obviously looking through different lenses so won't see eye to eye on this.

Defense top 10 in points allowed, but who cares right?

And yes - I WILL CLAIM - if your offensive coordinator runs foolishness like a demarcado run on 3&18 at the 50 yard line and your QB dips his fingers in hot butter to throw intentional grounding at the 5 yard line- then your offense is hosed along with your season.
I think the hot butter play looked worse than it really was.. it was 3rd down, if he didn’t hot butter he was clearly sacked. Literally made no difference other than optics.

PJ's decent, Garrett can't stay on the field, Sweat is decent. None of them are stars, or close to it. This franchise is a failure at all levels. It isn't all Monti's fault, but he gets a fair portion of blame. He hired the OC, after all, FFS.
Stout in my defense - I said that comment before we witnessed one of the worst half's in cardinal history against arguably the worse team in the NFL (but I guess what does that make us?)

lol so build not around the strengths of a QB you were stuck w for a minimum of 3 years? This might be the most dumb take I’ve seen

Can’t wait to see the QB MO picks and signs next season
My thing is both the Cards and Kyler need to split. This roster is not built for a 5'10" QB who struggles with interior pressure and needs speed on the outside to create clearer throwing lanes over the middle. Its a bad fitaand Monti has a squad for that QB of his liking. So let him go get him and truly find out what this team is about.

MO has signed Josh Dobbs, drafted Clayton Tune, Traded for Ridder, and signed Brissett.

There is nothing in his history that says he can spot QB talent.

Its clear Monti/Drew wanted a different identity on offense. If Kyler succeeds with it great, but no it doesnt feel like this offense was built for his skillset. Its too slow. Its for a more rhythmic passer and methodical passer. I think they tried to make it work, but its always been an odd fit.

So lets get the QB he wants. Enough of whatever this is.

Youre acting as if MO couldn’t bring in other QBs.

He has and they have been terrible.

Ya… but in a league where you can turn around a franchise quickly you don’t take the job w that mindset. You think more than 3 years is what this league hires gm and coaches to turn a team around?!?!! I don’t care if it’s kyler or someone else at QB but if it takes more then 3 years to make major progress? You need to be fired and that’s a fail on you - the gm and the coach

I'd like Walter Nolen and BJ Ojulari to play actual snaps of NFL football. I'd like Darius Robinson to matter in an NFL football game.

That's 3 high draft picks that have shown nothing.

I'd like Marv to be better than Nabers. To this point, he hasn't become it.

Having said that, the look on Trey and Marv's faces is the same as I saw on Christian Kirk and DeAndre Hopkins faces. There is something missing from Kyler.

You're overlooking the Bidwill factor. I think Mike gave Monti the safety net. Build the team you want. We'll see if Kyler works, but you're safe until you get your QB.

Its the same issue for anyone going to Miami with Tua. Thats a tough job to walk into without security.

That’s way too much speculation into bidwells brain rather than facts.

No way in knowing if that’s anywhere near truth. What we do know it’s year 3 in the rebuild and I’d argue we are on a worse trend than even the Panthers.

Vince your post is spot on- I just can’t jive w that last paragraph. Haven’t seen any faces on any of the guys outside of Hopkins.. who was known for that even before kyler

In three years, Monti has built a roster that lacks excitement, intelligence and discipline. The play calling is predictable. The offensive identity was based on an aging RB and the Oline coach. The defense seems to start strong and steadily drop off as the game progresses.

Kyler has plenty of issues, and I think even he would agree that it's time for both sides to move on, but the framework for success just isn't here.

Gotta let the guy who selected Clayton Tune take another bite at the Apple.

What evidence is there that Monti could select an upgrade?

Isaiah Adams was a horrific reach by two rounds and is now starting. I would like to remind everyone Cooper Beebe and Christian Hayes both fell to round 3 and we mega reached for Adams. Watch the Cowboys sometime and see how Beebe is doing compared to the human turnstile. We just watched Hayes wreck our o-line a week ago.

Ossenfort is terrible.
