There have been a lot of changes announced with the Ohio State football program this offseason, one of those the installation of new turf inside the venerable Ohio Stadium. The new field will be ready for the 2026 season, and for a limited time, fans can get a view of how things are progressing with all the work to get it done.
The folks at Ohio State already offer Ohio Stadium tours, and now, it is offering tours of the Horseshoe so that fans can see the old turf come out and the new go in. That's right, according to a release from OSU, the program "will offer a limited-time Turf Tours experience, giving guests the opportunity to go behind the scenes of Ohio Stadium and watch the field transformation up close."
From July 22 through 31, guests who purchase tickets will get to tour the Press Box, NetJets Landing, the Huntington Club, the Band Center, and the Home Locker Room before heading to field level to see the progress on the new turf.
The installation of the new playing surface at Ohio Stadium will feature Shaw Sports Turf’s Forge Series™ system and will be installed by The Motz Group. The new field will continue to be sponsored by Safelite. The Shaw’s Forge Series™ is a system-level product line designed to meet NFL standards and features Game ON® technology, which integrates field markings directly into the turf. We're excited to see the look and how that will all play out each Saturday.
In addition to the tour, each paid guest will also receive a piece of national championship turf to take home, while supplies last. To get tickets, fans can learn more by going to OhioStadiumTours.com.
