Canvas Stadium is getting a turf refresh ahead of the 2026 season.

A new artificial turf playing surface will be installed over the summer ahead of Colorado State's first season in the Pac-12.

CSU last got new turf ahead of the 2019 season when the then two-year-old turf at the new on-campus stadium was replaced (at no expense to CSU) due to an issue draining water.

The main design elements of the turf haven't changed much since the stadium opened in 2017.

The old turf had green end zones with "Colorado State" lettering. In recent years the "A" was painted orange on Ag Day games. The centerfield logo is the traditional Ram head. The turf alternated lighter and darker green every 5 yards.

Now for the new look. It's not a drastic change, but there are some noticeable differences. One end zone has "Colorado State" written out with "Rams" in the other. The Pac-12 logos sit on the 25 yard line, replacing the Mountain West logos. The alternating light and dark green through the field is gone.

The out of bounds area from the 25 down to and around the end zone is now gold with "Sonny Lubick Field" written in green. The 20 yard line is now outlined in gold.

An Aggie "A" in orange is at on the 50 yard line, just out of bounds on CSU's bench. Sponsor logos for Pedersen Toyota are in the paint behind each end zone.

The new Canvas Stadium turf will make its public debut on Sept. 5 when the Rams host rival Wyoming to open the 2026 football season.

It's the summer of refreshed playing surfaces at CSU. The Rams are also putting in a new court at Moby Arena, complete with a new design for that surface as well.
