Section III girls basketball champion Utica-Notre Dame plays an NYSPHSAA Class A semifinal state playoff game at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York, against Section V champion Rochester-Our Lady of Mercy on Saturday, March 21 (10 a.m., NFHS Network).
Notre Dame's Jugglers (24-0) have won three consecutive Section III championships, two in Class A and one in Class B where they won a state championship in 2024, and they have already advanced one round further than they did in 2025.
Mercy's Monarchs (16-9) are competing the state tournament for the first time since reaching the Class AA semifinals in a five-class tournament in 2017.

Today's winner will face the winner of the second semifinal between Section II Albany Academy (22-2) and Section I Tappan Zee (21-4) in Sunday's 10 a.m. championship game.
The undefeated Jugglers are ranked first in the state by the New York State Sportswriters Association, and have held the top spot since the initial poll was released in late December. Albany Academy and Tappan Zee are ranked second and third, and Mercy jumped from 12th to fifth in the rankings with a pair of regional playoff victories last week.
