Really doesn't mean anything for the future of the QB position.

I think they thought, after the Dallas game, that maybe they caught lightning in a bottle with Brissett. Remember, the overreacting after that game was JB has to keep starting. So, put Murray on IR and let him heal to 100% for a off-season trade or so he has the best chance possible when they do put him back in there. Maybe like how the 49ers handled Jones and Purdy.

But then this trainwreck of the last two games happen and it looks like they completely lost the locker room. You can't be saying "Kyler is the guy" and then literally less than 24 hours later put him on IR. If he is truly the best QB and his coach believes that, then it looks like you quit on the season. Or, the coach isn't in control which also is a situation where players quit on the coach.

I think the first paragraph was the right decision.
