Oh I know...and nobody wants him gone. But it's a business, and it's money, and age is a reality everyone knew was coming.
But you don't bring in Algeier and pay him that contract unless your planning to move on from JC.

Every RB in the league knows they will spend the last few years of their career bouncing from team to team.

I hink we signed Allgeir before we had decided to draft Love. Just a guess but I think they planned on going OL or defense when they signed him but after evaluating all the guys came to the conclusion that Love was by far the best player on the board when we picked so they took him

No I am saying when we signed him we were not planning to draft Love. But after doing ou homework that plan changed.

I would think you could run 20 or 21 personnel in this offense and get multiple backs on the field at once. MLF has said repeatedly they did not intend to do 11 personnel it just ended up fitting their roster. I think you could do something really creative with a RB room this deep, at least on some packages.

Understand where you're coming from. But, go back one year's injuries. We are due some luck from the FB gods.

we'd need an o-line to run 20 personnel - meaning we can't run 20 personnel - plus we have mcbride

First thing to remember is that this year our QB is TALLER. All the previous stats are valid but, this year is not last year. And yes, JB isn't the future, but he proved he could pass the ball. Everything is on the table, passes to TE's, WR's and RB's out of the backfield.
The only real question is MHJ, JB had good timing with him temporarily. So is it just a timing thing that may be resolved or his hands?

I wish my Qb was a little bit taller, I wish he was a baller...

I think the point is, Tip is more than just a blocking TE...his college offense didn't provide a lot of opportunities but he caught everything thrown his way.. he is a legit all around TE...
Whereas, as much as we love Higgy Bear, he is one dimensional

Is Higgy still with us?? He is,...right!
No, Tip isn't anything more than just a blocking TE. He isn't anything approaching a legit all around TE. Not his game.

disagree all you want. he caught everything they threw at him in college and so far he has caught everything they have thrown at him in the pros.
how a guy is used isnt always all he is. Coaches see a 270 pound dude that can block so they use him for that..but that doesnt limit who he is as a player.
if we dont use him to his abilities, sooner or later somebody will.

Wonderful. He can catch a few balls a year. That doesn't make for an all around TE. Have you ever questioned whey he never got more targets? There's usually a reason.

stop thinking of tip as a tight end - lafleur doesn't think of tip as one - lafleur sees a 6th lineman - one that can move - one that won't be flagged for being ineligibly downfield when he's smashing people - this is a position/skill set specifically needed in 12 personnel - aka lafleur's offense

this place needs to smoke more weed or something - our offensive line sucks and folks want tip reiman catching passes lol when i'd rather see him block even more - perhaps at fullback

and the beauty of tip not catching passes - even tho he's talented enough to do so - is he becomes an after thought for nfl secondaries - that's when you call his number - 3rd down and 5 - everyone's worried about love and mcbride.... here's your tip of the day - stop sleepin' on tip reiman

Yes, the same way MHJ and Wilson don't have games where they both don't have a lot of yards. Petzing can get mcbride and 1 receiver a lot of yards but no one else is very productive.

This is how it is for many NFL teams, my man.

On the Rams, Puka and Adams had 48% target share combined. The next-most targeted player had less than half the targets of Adams.

On the Pats, Diggs and Henry had 39% of the targets. Mack Hollins had 9.5%.

On the Seahawks, JSN alone had 35% of the targets. Kupp and Barber had another 30% combined.

Those were the top three offenses of last year.

word - there will be games where wilson has a sizeable advantage over his man - same goes for mhj - especially if lafleur likes to move around pre-snap

also if teams gameplan to take either wilson or mhj the other has to deliver

Guess I'm fondly remembering Boldin, Fitz and Breaston.
My point was that saying Tip hasn't caught many passes is because Petzing couldn't figure it out or we have so much excellent receiver options that Tip doesn't get many opportunities.
I'm interested and excited to see how Mlf utilizes Tip.

That was just a high-volume passing offense, also. 623 attempts with those three getting 63% of them.

Only the Cards, Bengals, and Cowboys had more passing attempts last season.

So the Cards were a high volume passing team and yet couldn't get a 3rd receiver involved?

He'll utilize Tip as a blocking TE.

He’s all world on an amazing team.

We have the best TE in football and we talk about the third best TE who was way over drafted by our crap GM.
