I assume we're running a system similar to what the Rams ran which is run centered and uses multiple TE's so will we see the targets for McBride actually go down? If you watch the Rams one of the things they have done consistently is punish teams that load up on the best receivers by feeding some unknown 2nd or 3rd TD the ball over and over forcing you to change their scheme.

The RB room. I am assuming Love is the starter but he's also the 3rd down guy because he's the best receiver of the group. I'm assuming Allgier is the primary backup. I assume Conner is the have to get 1 yard guy. So is Benson going to return kickoffs? Said it all offseason he doesn't play ST and that's why it becomes harder for him to be on the roster. Given all the reports he's healthy now, they're taking it slow but he's fully cleared, I figure the only 2 logical scenarios are he gets traded, or he is returning kickoffs. Being the backup 3rd down RB when the first guy is as good as Love isn't a thing. So that's my guess.

Will Love return punts? It was reported yesterday he's been doing some of it in camp. Being a Terry Metcalf guy growing up the concept of a starting RB also returning punts(and kickoffs for TM) isn't foreign but sure would be unusual. My guess is they're trying to find out if he can do it, because he's such a good receiver, with the idea in critical points in the game maybe you run him back there to see if he can pop one. I don't think he'll be the primary PR guy.

Every camp they've told us D Rob looks good is this the year they're finally telling the truth?

Bisontis had some first team reps, I am hoping this is a thing I really want him to pan out was not a fan of Adams before his legal stuff and with that hanging there now I'd much prefer we don't name him a starter. If he's clearly better sure, but I don't think he is.

Sounds like virtually all of our CB's are healthy?

His current target rate is unsustainable on a good offense so you’d think so. LaFleur has been pretty open that the difference in this offense vs SF and LARM is featuring McBride.

Kittle had some 100+ target seasons when MLF was the passing game coordinator in SF. Hard to imagine McBride getting another 150 targets if the run game is functional.

I guess I should have said ratio of targets since yeah I assume we're going to run much more this year than we did last year due to all the injuries at RB.

The Rams were kind of notorious in fantasy there'd be some 3rd string TE with a 6 catch 80 yards and a TD game and everyone would go out and sign him and then the guy would get 3 catches total over the next 3 games while the 4th string TE went off.

We definitely don't want to shorten McBride's career with too many seasons like last year. Kittle in SF is probably a good analogy.

Yeesh 160 targets for Puka and over 100 for Davanta last season in LA.

Again LaFlaur has said he’s prioritizing getting McBride the ball. We also don’t really have a fourth TE right now that would allow us to put McBride in that Nacua role.

I wonder if they keep Benson around knowing this is most likely Connor’s last season. If, and that is a huge if, Benson can remain healthy, it would be cool to have him and Love in the backfield together on certain packages. Benson hasn’t done squat yet, but you can’t teach 220 lbs. and 4.36 speed and pairing him with another speedster would move that lack of team speed needle. Last year we were probably the slowest offense in the league. Love and Benson if healthy dramatically improves team speed.

I know but our other TEs in camp are something called Teagan Quitoriano and Kenny Yeboah.

The former has played 716 offensive snaps in four NFL seasons; the latter has played 309 in four seasons. Yeboah played with MLF’s Jets team.

higgins can hold his own if lafleur wants to bounce mcbride around - and lafleur can still keep tip on the other end.

actually - if we're facing an undersized secondary that could be a lot of fun

Mlf has talked about Tip fairly often, the dude is big for a TE and has very good speed. I expect him to get far more opportunities than most here predict.

There doesn’t seem to be a lack of targets for Brissett. It will come down to just how well this o-line will develop and mesh.
If that doesn’t happen none of this will matter.

Algieir will be the short yardage back... he is basically JC 7 years younger or so..
Conner is gonna be released before the season starts

I would love to see JTT get more opportunities.. dude is a very good reciever, especially for his size.
Wilson
Reiman
McBride
Love
Harrison
gives us a solid lineup of skill position players with outstanding speed.
switch to 22 and throw Benson in the backfield too...and just wow...

you line that up traditional 22...then motion McBride into the slot....
then motion Love into the other slot....
or next to Trey to flood a side...
puts a huge menu of options on the table.

Neither Trey nor Tip are blazers but both have good TE speed...Tip has great speed for his size. 4.6 iirc, awesome for 6'5 270 pounds

Love is a 4.36 guy
Benson is a 4.39 guy

not many backers or safeties are covering either one of those guys for long

we can put a lineup on the field with legit offensive weapons... but we need that front five to give the QB every single fraction of 3 seconds...or at least 2.5

I guess I think Mlf and Hackett are vastly better than Petzing. Not sure why you don't.
I think Petzing is mildly underrated and couldn’t vibe with Kyler.

I just don’t know from whom you take targets to ensure Tip Reiman gets more than 30 targets all season.

who cares how many targets tip gets - my guess is - those who haven't been paying attention or those who just wanna be debbie

who tries to bring up how many targets tip got during a season while he was on i.r.?

lol same guy who asked where paris was while paris was on i.r.

we have the best tight end in the league - we have higgins behind him but we're gonna boohoo about our blocking tight end not getting enough receptions

citation denied in advance lol

Conner is a big locker room guy.
Oh I know...and nobody wants him gone. But it's a business, and it's money, and age is a reality everyone knew was coming.
But you don't bring in Algeier and pay him that contract unless your planning to move on from JC.

Every RB in the league knows they will spend the last few years of their career bouncing from team to team.

I think the point is, Tip is more than just a blocking TE...his college offense didn't provide a lot of opportunities but he caught everything thrown his way.. he is a legit all around TE...
Whereas, as much as we love Higgy Bear, he is one dimensional

Is Higgy still with us?? He is,...right!
