A couple things:
First, the INTs were bad but again, his only action in games has been in complete debacles where the defenses have known what was going to happen. That isn't exactly a good proving ground for any QB let alone a backup. I have said it from the middle of last year. McCown should get a full start. He should be gameplanned (as much as our coaches can...but that is another thread) he should get all the #1 reps and I believe that would tell everyone exactly what he can and cannot do.
Second, McCown did improve from last year to this year. Most of us will acknowledge at least that much. Does that mean he can be and NFL starter? I don't know. I hope he continues to improve but until this team acknowledges the disaster of the season and actually auditions the guys against NFL starters, nobody including the Cards coaches, knows what he or Parsons for that matter can do.
As to the team quitting if Blake gets benched. If these guys quit because of that, then every last damn one of them should be cut from the team and blackballed from the league. As far as I am concerned, they quit yesterday with Blake at the helm.
EDIT: BTW, my confidence in what McCown can do is shaken and dropping. I want him to play better but I am starting to wonder, even though the game situations he has been thrown into have sucked, if he can really do it.
