Reports: Heyward will sign with Cubs

Jason Heyward, one of the top free agents available this offseason, is going from St. Louis to division rival Chicago, according to multiple reports. Heyward hit .293 with 13 HRs and posted 6.5 Wins Above Replacement last season for the Cardinals.

Second former #1 overall pick dealt in the last week. Appel however looks like a bust with a 5.12 ERA over 2 minor league seasons.

ARZ wasn't that far off the mark. He ended up getting $4M more than ARZ offered him but still a decent deal at just under $22M a year if he doesn't opt out.

Orioles: Have an agreement with outfielder Hyun-Soo Kim of Korea for two years and $7 million, CBS Sports MLB Insider Jon Heyman confirmed Wednesday. Kim batted .326 with a .979 OPS, 28 home runs, 101 walks and 121 RBI for Doosan. Kim turns 28 in January. Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun first reported the deal, which is pending a medical review. Kim bats left and throws right.

SEATTLE -- The Hisashi Iwakuma saga did a complete 360-degree twist late Thursday as the Mariners announced they've re-signed the 34-year-old right-hander to a one-year guaranteed deal with two more potential vesting years, after the Dodgers backed out of a three-year, $45 million agreement earlier in the day

Trade: The Pirates sent outfielder Keon Broxton and 19-year-old right-hander Trey Supak to the Brewers for infielder/outfielder Jason Rogers. It's possible that Rogers, who hit .296 with an .808 OPS and four homers in 169 plate appearaces for the Brewers, might be a right-handed platoon partner at first base in Pittsburgh. He turns 28 in March. Supak stands 6-foot-5 and 210 pounds, and was a second-round pick of the Bucs in 2014. He has a career 5.85 ERA with 44 strikeouts in 52 1/3 innings. Broxton, 25, is a career .253/.333/.410 hitter with 150 stolen bases in 3,418 plate appearances.
