Weren't there games where he never left the left side of the field? IIRC I remember seeing a Buncha routes on the left and zero crossing patterns or snaps from the right?
Precisely, and it was literally only 2-4 of the exact same routes on that 1 side field. It was a complete joke when you compared it to Davante adams, Tyreke hill, etc that was posted at the time.

Murray averaged 32 passing attempts per game in 2024 though. So there's room for more passes to MHJ and the other wide receivers without taking away passes from McBride if we're willing to throw the ball as much as last year.
Yup.
10 each to Trey and Marv, and a dozen to spread around between Higgy, Zay, Torch, and the RB's

It won't be exact but it can average that way...and produce us 2 1100 yard receivers

Murray misses wide open guys often. Game 1 at N.O. he missed MHJ on a throw that would have sealed the game, likely led to a score. Last game, there were guys open including in the end zone that of course he didn't see. His football IQ, studies, or maybe it's his height aren't up to the level to be great. He's talented, but Keim is the one that ran to the podium to draft this guy first. Not me, I would have drafted a big, tall strong quarterback, and would have done whatever it takes to do so. I believe Keim was drinking.

he certainly does but I think watching other games you see this too the difference is other teams throw the ball downfield way more than we do so they can tolerate misses more than we can?

Vikings game McCarthy has WR wide open deep for a TD overthrows him, same game has TE uncovered in flat for a huge gain doesnt' see him. In the Chargers game McConkey literally uncovered for a TD on the right, Herbert doesn't see it throws left incomplete. In the Dolphins game sunday Tyreek Hill was so open and Tua overthrows him high, he jumps up and down pouting and walks off the field.

But we only take a few shots a game so if we don't hit them it's just much more magnified.

Well then the Cards, and their coaches need to get the ball down the dang field at SF. They were terrible vs. the pass last year. Not sure about this year. McCarthy seems like a bust, and I felt tgat way from day 1 in the NFL. He didn't throw much in college. Thank goodness MHJ has been patient. Jefferson looked ticked off, and that might become a problem on a team with a great coaching staff and poor qb play.

My two cents. You're all Debbie downers, Harrison will be fine he is a star and the object of the game is to win. Cards are 2-0 soon to be three and 0. Hope you all are eating crow Sunday.

I’m reminded of this play that would’ve won us Week 1 last season and how he’s poorly utilized and how our QBoF has massive vision issues
Get your popcorn ready for some crazy hoop jumping to defend that miss by the K1 stans. (again).

I dont say this unless I absolutely mean it. I wouldve made that throw or at least had the intelligence to throw to the dude who has no one around him for miles.

Olave, JSN and Garrett Wilson have all been asked who was the best receiver at Ohio and all have said MHJ.

I'm not concerned about Marv, he just need a QB that can pass him the ball.

He is coverage priority - freeing up others is great enough, but when they slip, nail them.

I think he'll play better and I think if we're in games we're not up and not having to throw as much he'll get targeted more. I will say sometimes this throw to the guy to get him involved doesn't work.

Totally different situation but look at what's going on in Jax with Hunter and Thomas Jr. Steve Smith said he thinks they're so determined to make Hunter a viable WR that they're forcing him the ball and it's hurting the whole team in particular Thomas and Trevor. Thomas has a wrist injury we didn't know about which is probably part of the drops, and it's a new offense, but Smith thinks his biggest issue is the offense is new and he's not comfortable at all with his role. 19 targets FIVE catches is awful. But 14 targets for Hunter 9 catches 55 yards and I think they said 2 of the 3 picks Lawrence threw were balls to Hunter where he either ran the wrong route or didn't compete for the ball.

Smith thinks they're trying so hard to make Hunter a WR and at the same time feed Thomas that they're just determining pre snap whose turn it is and that's why Lawrence looks so bad.

I want to see us get the ball to MHJ more, but I don't want to see us forcing the ball to him if they're taking him away go somewhere else.

But we gotta start getting the ball downfield so we can get the run game going.
