The Florida State Seminoles turned up the heat on four-star safety Ta'Shawn Poole once he took his official visit on June 12, making him one of their top priorities as he gets set to make his decision.
The only question was when Poole would make his announcement. After much speculation, a date has been set. Poole will decide between the Georgia Bulldogs, Tennessee Volunteers, and the Seminoles on July 17 at 6 p.m. ET.
Getting three-star safety Jemari Foreman to shut down his recruitment was a huge win for FSU. However, landing Poole would not only give them an even higher-ranked player at the position, but he would be the top commitment in the 2027 class for the Seminoles. Poole isn't just a skilled defensive back. He also brings prowess as a wide receiver and ball carrier with seven total touchdowns last year at Howard High School in Macon, Georgia.
Florida State has been consistent in their efforts towards Poole since they offered him last August and hosted him last November when they played the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. That's what's kept them at the top of his recruitment throughout the last year or so.
"They have done a great job of building a real relationship with me and my family. They have made me feel like a priority since day one," said Poole on his bond with FSU.
Poole is the nation's No. 68 overall player and the No. 5 safety per the 247Sports composite rankings. He's also listed as the No. 5 prospect in the state of Georgia.
It's been a productive summer so far for Florida State in regard to landing commitments. Adding Poole would be the icing on the cake.
