I didn't expect the Suns to win at the Clippers and Nuggets, maybe not at the Jazz as well, but I expected a better effort tonight.

The latter part worries me the most. Energy for 48 minutes is what I want every night.

Jalen Green smiling and looking very happy on the bench with his team down 25+ points.

O'Neale was good again, and Brooks had a pretty good shooting night, but they need more scoring, if Devin plans on disappearing.

Can we all agree that at least Fleming over Davis should happen?
Yes. Just saying Hayes-Davis looked his best tonight. Not saying it was great effort, but he at least hit some shots and mixed it up on defense a bit. It wasn't a total zero for him. Yes, Flemming in mop up minutes looks better than Hayes-Davis.

we competed thru the entire first quarter - went on a 12-0 run at one point then the offense stopped - the missed shots led to fastbreaks and wide open 3s - we were ok until williams came in and then richards did worse - ott actually started his #1 in oso

everything fell apart tho - they picked on grayson - they boxed out and hustled - nobody missed from 3 lol but yeah - we were lucky as hell to gel so well against sacramento

In the 2nd quarter we had both Brooks and Book on the bench. Offensively, where do the points come from? Grayson and O'Neale were on the floor, but you hate to have a lineup where the only points you could hope for are from 3 pointers. That's the main reason we missed Green in this game.

book dtv dunn and oso can play some quality defense together - i don't think green will get picked on the way grayson does

agreed with everything ott said - idk about the center depth tho
I'm really not sure? I like listening to him but I'm not sure he's seeing what I think I'm seeing. I don't think we're going 1-81 but I think the Clippers game will be fairly representative of our season unless our rookies and younger players greatly outplay their draft slots. We have a weak roster compared to the rest of the league so our opponents will often underestimate us and keep us in the game but most nights it will just be a tease (as last night's first quarter was).

maybe but we haven't seen anything yet - starting lineup up was the same but that will change - jalen comes back and it probably knocks nhd off ott's 10 man roster - he or fleming - idk - if we do suck i hope he puts the rookies in earlier tho

I don't think Williams has earned the starting position back, and I'm pretty happy with Oso so far. I think it's only a matter of time before Williams supplants him in the starting lineup. Remember that this was only the 2nd real game that Williams has even played outside of 5v5 with his own teammates.

Yeah we don't know what Green will give us but unless he can play the 1 AND effectively defend that position, I hold little hope for this team. And if we're going to still try and use Devin as a point guard, I have zero hope for our success. He just cannot play that position for a winning team. And it's not just because he has 9 turnovers to his 10 assists this season.

When he’s getting doubled every time he has the ball I expect him to give it up.
Having said that... Brooks last night in the locker room after the game:

Dillon Brooks on Devin Booker having just 10 field goal attempts in Suns 129-102 loss to Clippers: "He needs to shoot them even if it looks like a bad shot. I played against Devin a long time. He's a natural scorer. Finds ways to score. He just need to be a little selfish out there."

And Dillon knows what he's talking about on shooting even if it's a bad shot. :p But seriously, he's right. Book doesn't like taking bad shots but I'd rather he's taking them than Dillon or anybody else on the team for that matter. Book needs to be more aggressive.

Book needs to find the proper balance. He's deferring too much early on and trying to get others going but he can't help those who don't help themselves. I hope Brooks gets in his ear and encourages to be more selfish. We need Book shooting no less than 15 shots a night. He should try to drop 70 again until Jalen returns. I'd rather Book shoot than some of the reckless offense we've seen.

I love the way Book is playing. It looks like surgical efficiency. Green needs to do the same.
