Total and complete disagreement from me. I'm not willing to say, "Oh, poor Monti didn't have a level playing field so we have to ignore his 3 seasons of utter ineptitude." No dice. He inherited a bad QB/QB contract and a sub-par roster. He made the conscious decision to make the roster significantly worse. That's on Monti. From there, he's had 3 years to find a QB (4 offseasons) but decided to wait until he offloaded Kyler, although he did so with zero succession plan in mind. Say what you want about Simpson (I never wanted him), but the Rams are getting their QBOF in place before they lose their current QB.
What has Monti done to earn the benefit of any doubt? Where are the all pros he's drafted? Hell, how many pro bowlers has he drafted? How many mistakes of his own creation has he tried and then failed to fix in FA? How much cap space is he going to sit on every year while wasting cap space in cutting the players he himself has signed?
@Harry, maybe in year 8 or 9, can we finally be allowed to criticize Monti? We had the KM hangers on; you're acting like a KM hanger on but with Monit. I don't get it, man. I just don't.
