Like I said, it's too early to judge. It's starting to look like Jon Gaines may be a player after two years of nothing, and nobody thought Michael Wilson would be this good in his third year. While I don't think Beej or DRob will develop, I can't rule it out. Same with Benson, Burch and others. Let's come back to this next year or the year after. I'll make my final judgement at that time.

Until then, mock me all you want, cause that's what you do.
IMO this leads to a bit of an endless cycle. Monti’s job is to put a winning team in the field. He hasn’t done that.

three years in, especially considering the number of draft picks, cap room etc -- there should be WAY more progress

three years in-- the team shouldnt be looking for 2-3 starters on the o-line, 2-3 starters on the D front 7, a starting safety (or 2)

that doesnt even mention QB....

Seems a little early to call the picks and moves good when they've led to nothing but failure so far, but who knows?!?
That’s why I said the picks were good and not the team. Was picking Dan Marino a failed move because they never won a Super Bowl?

How may sacks does potential starter and great pick Jordan Burch have this season? Dante Stills?
Who called them great picks? You? I don’t typically waste time responding to you but Dante Stills was a damn good 6th round pick. No surprise you and your incessant need to promote misery would dispute that.

Dan Marino took the team to the Super Bowl in his second season and playoffs almost every year in his prime.

Monti’s picks have gotten us to the same point we’ve always been… a joke.

Otherwise, good comparison.

You literally called them “exceptional for their draft position,” buddy.

Sounds like @cardsfanmd is setting the standard of five straight pro bowls to begin their career as success. How many pro bowlers has Monti brought on to the roster?

I'm not quite sure how I feel. This season skews a lot for me. I'm sure there is some recency bias with how terrible we have ended the season...

I feel like the GM put the team in a position to succeed this season, being in so many close games. It is the players and the coaching that failed this team this year. I don't believe that this team is as talented as the others in the division, but I believed that we should have been able to compete with them.

You can blame Monti (and the coaching staff) for not getting more from the players he has selected.

As much as I hated Keim and wanted him to go, I'm probably leaning towards him today.
Man hang this post in the louvre

I know the poll is between the two but I still wish there was a "Neither" button LOL.

Again, as I say, it's a choice between a poop sandwich and a poop sandwich with salt, they both stink.

Monti by a hair would be my answer. Dang, after further review I changed my vote LOL.

Can we have Option 3: Ossenkeim?

They are each, IMO, half of a good to great GM. Together they might make one helluva front office.
What had Monti showed you in three seasons to suggest he’s even half-good?

This is Football podcast just did a ranking of GMs and the consensus was Monti should be last.
