I already said after the pick so again whos at fault for not being able to stop a crap Panthers squad?
Also the lovely onsides again is so laughable now that it should be impossible for the other team to get one.

But hey blowing a 24 point lead is the QBs fault.

Are you still high from yesterday because it seems like it.
im not "still high" im pretty much always high - you just laughed at superman for being able to fly son - it gives me a different perspective - you say kyler only had the ball for 34 seconds - i say it only took kyler murray 34 seconds to turn the ball over when the game was on the line - when we could least afford to - i didn't blame the loss squarely on him either but your guy was a major contributor

I'm dreading the injury list for this game. How much of the change in the D was a result of in-game adjustments to D players going down and how much was a planned decision should the Cards have a lead? If it was in-game adjustment---look for more of the same vanilla D and 4 man rush until to subs get up to par with the game plan.

During training camp, I believe the players were grouped according to whether they were starters or backups. The starters were on one field, the backups on the other. Did we come up short on being able to plug in guys as injury added up?

We got our DBs banging into one another and taking each other out. Tell them it is the guys in the other jerseys who get the hard hits.
The backups had a lot of playing time during the preseason so they should be ready to go.

Cool we disagree on severity then.

It's somewhat interesting that our coaching staff was far more aggressive in the first year than the last 2. It's just more of the same passive/boring game plan every week now.
Maybe they knew they had two cupcakes to start the season and wanted to keep it as vanilla as possible before unleashing on the rest of the league? I'm clutching at straws, I know.

It never changed last year, and I don't expect it this year.

Why do I feel like the vibes would be better had we lost the first game, but won this game in a decisive, blowout fashion?

All teams go through phases of playing not very well and then playing very well. Even bad and great teams vary over the season.

You gotta hope this is a slow start and we are going to improve and not us at our best already. We will see. I think we can be a lot better on both sides of the ball. It's not like we are totally bereft of talent like two years ago. Some lineup adjustments might be coming. I think Adams is a problem on the oline. If Will Hernandez steps back in there and is as good as he was to start the season last year then running, pass blocking and penalties will improve. Just one example.

Because it would have the appearance of progress vs. the same crap from the first game?

I would love to believe this, but it looks way too similar to what we saw last year.

Said this in the game thread but maybe study hall for Monti and/or Michael for choosing to be bad for two straight seasons leading to a small, disaffected crowd for the home opener. Stadium sure looked two-thirds full; I’m not sure the Panthers needed to break out their silent count.

The Cards will likely have to for that Seahawks game in two weeks tho.

One thing I noticed yesterday, and it probably happens often, on many plays, the side Marvin is lined up on, Murray never even looks to that side.

It’s almost like he decides where/who he’s throwing the ball to before the snap rather than reading the defense.

At least look Harrison’s way to get a safety or other DB to move in that direction.

The other guys mentioned are getting the ball regardless of the coverage.

Now, on Marvin’s end, he has to earn those targets too. You can’t be dropping balls and you need to make that TD catch. I know the DB arm was in there but he needs to adjust to the ball and use his size to shield that defender off.

I am very disappointed with the team after 2 weeks.

I feel like virtually every player is underperforming my expectations.
Will Johnson has played to my expectation. And Calais. And that may be it.

EDGEs have played good ball for the most part. Would help if they got some more interior pressure.
Teams are just gonna do quick game until they show we can stop it.

Half the Saints drives went 9+ plays (five of 10). Panthers had eight of ten drives of 8+ plays.

Because the Cardinals drafted a WR #4 overall and then decide not to use him. Seems pretty dumb.
True. But MHJ also had two dropped passes and a 45 yard PI. No drops, no PI and it would have been a 5 catch 90 yard game against a top 5 CB. Isn’t that good enough. The targets were there. Could be more of course

Baltimore is probably the only team in the league that throws to their #1 WR less than 10 times a game

Other than us

Yeah. In general I agree. But Panthers have a top 5 CB and the remaining secaondary is horrible. I didn’t expect anything else from this game.

The end zone play is not a drop...the pass interference was a badly thrown ball.
