Play design was better but still a few clunker calls with KM run option stuff. Like the crossing routes and use of other TE’s. Still need to get MH more involved. Other than KM scramble our run game blew chunks. Defense first half solid. Late third quarter on we turtled badly and it almost cost us again. I sure hope JG and this staff learned a hard lesson today on what not to do and keep the foot on the other team’s throat.

benson averaged 4.7 on 3 runs and one of them was busted due to a missed block - also had 4 catches on that kick ass drive

I think there were improvements in the playcalling. I have been so frustrated with the lack of quick reads when it’s an all out blitz. They were there today. The way Higgins and Wilson were set up, but some of them negated by penalties

Doesn’t every NFL team give QBs pressure when the QB holds it for 4+ seconds? Problem is Kyler can’t read and process quick enough. I’m sure KW or CP would be carving defenses alive if they were out there.

Nah not yet. Disappointing? Yeah. But it routinely takes IDL guys three seasons to start producing...
All the off season hype during content season raised expectations for sure. But it's too soon to be thinking bust at this point....and while I do think Nolens playstyle is going to lend itself to earlier production there is no guarantee he produces in his rookie season either.
