The aforementioned McMahon, a weak hitting 1B who leads (???)
the league in strikeouts . . . just hit a 3-run home run.

With all the talk about Weaver pitching only three innings, Torey
left him too long.

So now it's up to our weak hitting first baseman, Jake Lamb, to
hit a 3-run homer. :)

As BB pointed out, small ball has given us the lead back 5-4 in the 5th.

And Arenado just hit his second HR of the game off a 3-2 fastball, and
the game is tied 5-5. Still no one out in the bottom of the 5th.

The D-backs just put a 4-infielder shift on the right side.

And the Rockies batter made out.

I consider myself to be a baseball purist, balancing
tradition with modern technology.

But that's ridiculous ! ! !

It is a microcosm of our society. Instant gratification.

Don't look beyond the end of your nose. Sad!

Lamb leaves a runner on 3B in the 6th.

Unlike his weak Rockies counterpart at
1B who hit a 3-run HR earlier.

Lamb's batting average is .074. That's
the dreaded Mendoza line. The mark of
baseball's most pathetic hitter.

Rename it the Lamb Line?

D-backs with runners on 1B & 3B with no one
out in the 7th and the Marte's coming up.

Now both runners in scoring position.

Ketel walks to load the bases.

Starling with 3 RBI's, including a HR,
so far. He is a career .420 hitter at Coors
and is batting .365.

A bloop off home plate. Arenado overruns
a bare handed play and another RBI for
Starling.

6-5 and bases loaded with no one out for
The Freight Train.

Peralta with a 3-run double and the D-backs lead 9-5.

That is the first hit the Rockies pitcher has given up this season.

All off the Rockies runs this game have scored on home runs.

Wooooo wooooo! The Coors circus continues!

Escobar drives in the Freight Train and it's 10-5.

The Freight Train stumbled rounding 3B and
just made it in.

Jake hit a grounder through the legs of his Rockies
counterpart at 1B and an unearned run scores.

Ooh, Jake is on a hitting (I mean unearned) streak.

And he scores a run on Ahmed's double. 12-5.

I could swear that the Rockies recorded fans' cheer
was the sarcastic cheer for McMahon's "fielding".

Calhoun with an RBI and it's 13-5.

But, you know what they say. No lead is safe at Coors
with three innings to go.

So let's pretend that we're leading 6-5. :)

Héctor Rondón is warming up in the bullpen for the D-backs.
BB asked Steve if he thought our 8-run lead is big enough.

As I said, pretend that we're leading by one run.

Yup, Chafin is still pitching. Two strikeouts and the righty
comes in.

Rondón, as expected, gives up a run in the 8th and is replaced
by Junior Guerra.

I don't mean that to be facetious, but it is what it is.

13-6. Runner on 2nd with no one out and he moves to 2B.

Blackmon, hitting .500, strikes out. BB is saying his swing
does not look good today.

Aronado drives in a run and it's 13-7. Runner on 2B. The
Rockies have hit a single, double and triple this inning,
so far. And it's now runners on 1st & 2nd. 1 out.

The Fat Lady's not singing yet! :)

A walk loads the bases with 2 outs.

Archie Bradley is up in the bullpen.

And the strikeout leaves them loaded, heading to the top
of the 9th.

Lovullo has messed with Guerra's head by not putting him in the 8th in hold situations. He has ruined his one reliable reliever...

The Rockies lefty reliever from Gilbert has a huge ERA in his few games.
