Seems like the Rodgers slip is legit, while the Benson drop may not. Don’t understand it, but I’m not a scout. Usually there aren’t many trades inside the top 10, but then again, this isn’t your typical draft. Anyway, here’s my final mock draft:

1. SF – Alex Smith, QB, Utah
2. Wsh (from Mia) – Braylon Edwards, WR, Michigan
3. TB (from Cle) – Ronnie Brown, RB, Auburn
4. Chi – Cedric Benson, RB, Texas
5. Cle (from TB) – Antrel Rolle, CB/S, Miami
6. Tn – Carlos Rogers, CB, Auburn
7. Mn – Troy Williamson, WR, South Carolina
8. AZ – Carnell Williams, RB, Auburn
9. Mia (from Wsh) – Demarcus Ware, LB/DE, Troy
10. Det – Derrick Johnson, LB, Texas
11. Dal – Shawne Merriman, LB/DE, Maryland
12. SD – Mike Williams, WR, Southern California
13. Hou – Alex Barron, OT, Florida State
14. Car – Aaron Rodgers, QB, California
15. Phi (from KC) – Matt Jones, WR, Arkansas
16. NO – Thomas Davis, LB, Georgia
17. Oak (from Cin) – Adam Jones, CB, West Virginia
18. Mn – Erasmus James, DE, Wisconsin
19. StL – Brodney Pool, S, Oklahoma
20. Ind (from Dal) – Justin Miller, CB, Clemson
21. Jax – David Pollack, DE, Georgia
22. Bal – Jamaal Brown, OT, Oklahoma
23. NE (from Sea) – Mark Clayton, WR, Oklahoma
24. GB – Jason Campbell, QB, Auburn
25. Mia (from Wsh) – Corey Webster, CB, Louisiana State
26. Cin (from Oak) – Chris Spencer, C, Mississippi
27. Atl – Shaun Cody, DE/DT, Southern California
28. SD – Marcus Spears, DE, Louisiana State
29. Dal (from Ind) – Roddy White, WR, Alabama-Birmingham
30. Pit – Khalif Barnes, OT, Washington
31. KC (from Phi) – Barrett Rudd, LB, Nebraska
32. Sea (from NE) – Dan Cody, DE, Oklahoma

Cards 2nd Round: Fabian Washington, CB, Nebraska

Why would Carolina take a 1st round QB? Have they lost faith in their man already? I could see Carolina going QB in the third or fourth round for depth, but not a first rounder.

I hope that happens. The Washington trade takes out a team looking for a RB. I think one of the 2 Auburn RBs will have more of an immediate impact for us than one of the CBs. Of course if this happens hopefully there wont be a run on the CBs in round 1, but I figure 1 or 2 of the good ones will be left by round 2. Forget Buffalo, maybe we can trade Shelton for a pick.

BAP, one of the few teams that won't draft for "need."

I thnk we will end up with a CB at 8. Best player available and need meet for us this year. Rolle, pacman or Rodgers cover both.

This is a very likely scenario IMO. Delhomme was a back-up for several years before coming to the Panthers, so he's getting up there in age. Plus his cap number jumps to $7M+ in a couple of season.

I hope it comes down like this.

Geting one of the top 3 RB's or one of the top 3 CB's will make my day.
