First prognosis on RB Andre Ellington is that foot injury is muscle injury. Still waiting MRI results and foot specialist

On #Cardinals RB Andre Ellington (foot), who had an MRI last night: First prescription is rest. He’s hopeful. Still a chance he plays on MNF

#Cardinals RB Andre Ellington has been dealing with his foot issue for a few weeks. Thought it would heal. Rest, but no surgery required.

The RB position really hasn't gotten too much coverage on this board. When in reality, we are pathetically thin at the position. Dwyer is a halfway decent sub, but is not at all a starter. He has zero explosiveness and average at best feet.
If Ellington is out for an extended period of time (more than a week), this offense is SERIOUSLY screwed...

Problem with muscle injuries is there's no set timetable. They all heal and react differently

We won 10 games last season with Rashard Mendenhall impotently plowing into the backs of offensive linemen when he wasn't fumbling the ball. Is it possible to believe that Jonathan Dwyer can or will be worse than Mendenhall in an expanded role?

This is a passing offense. No less than on Wednesday, our season depends on the right arm of Carson Palmer and his ability not to repeatedly throw the ball to the other team.

According to reports hes had a sore foot for a month.

Ive had a sore back for years, doesnt slow me down. You just deal with it.

Yep, if you lose an arm, just learn to tackle with the other one.
You're a running back and you've got a bad wheel? Just deal with it; hop faster.

As for Andre Ellington time frame a lot will depend the how quickly he heals, could be 4-6 weeks or longer depending on further prognosis.

man... outside of Palmer, Ellington was the one guy this offense really couldn't do without. He's the only difference maker at RB we have... hell, he's probably the only true NFL caliber running back we have.

Differant story...this guy gets paid to run! Jeez

Looks like he's gonna miss significant time which proves my case further.

Just got an alert that Ellington does not need surgery, which is the only good news, so far.

This sounds suspiciously like a potential lisfranc injury, which would be a disaster.

Mikel Leshoure is out there and should be added if Ellington is going to be out.
