Stafford's a good example to counter my thoughts. Jury's out on Lawrence. I expected much more from him and he's been pretty mid so far with decent talent around him the last two years.
Yea same TLaw hasnt really took that top 5 leap i thought he would by now

Kyler was brought up in a sandlot offense. He played against inferior talent a could get away with just about anything.

He now plays in a league where the tallest guy in college is now the shortest. The fastest guy in college is now the slowest.

This league is structured and designed. Call a play, read the defense and react accordingly. Play A is covered, go to option B. That’s covered to so go to option C.
It’s 1-2-3 and throw. It’s throw to this open area before your wr is there.

This ain’t Kyler and I’m not sure he can “learn” this in one off season.
I’m not sure he can learn that no matter hire many seasons. I don’t think Kyler wants to learn it at this point. Now, he gets rid of daddy and goes to a QB coach in the off-season maybe he can pick some stuff up and I would change my feelings on if Kyler even want to learn it

Yea, the Starling over Clark one is so puzzling to me. The fact that Starling is also a rookie is driving me wild.

if you buy into the conspiracy, they know what they have with Clark (didn't he get ST snaps last week?).

Starling is a mixed bag and I suspect he will get the call to see how he handles the additional snaps and coaching - if they pull he or Hamilton for an even greener DB, that would lend some credibility to the conspiracy

Thomas was moved almost immediately into heavy rotation in the defense:

Gannon and Rallis preferred to play Andre Chacare over Kei'Trel Clark in Garrett Williams' absence last week.

Yes, I can. Jackson has one playoff win and no Super Bowl ring. I am referring to a style of QB play, some better than most, but does not seem a consistent style for winning in the NFL
You can but it’s breath wasted.

Jackson is on the cusp of taking his team to the playoffs for the 4th time in 6 years, has won an MVP and is in the running to win another.

Kyler has been to the playoffs once in 5 years, been a disaster in the playoffs and mediocre to bad for the last two seasons.

And Kyler doesn’t get near the same mileage out of his legs that Lamar does.

Thus, there’s no comparison.

Clark received no snaps at all last week. Yet he is on some posters list as having been coached up?

And yet KM still isn't even in the conversation with Jackson. That is how bad he has been in the clutch.

Well, there is a comparison, just not a flattering one.

Kingsbury catered to Murrays skill set, in a college offense, this NFL offense, not so much. started late in the year, under center for the first time in his life. The run game came to life! But still this year is a whole new philosophy for KM. sometimes regresses as is normal with a learning curve. Be nice if he wasn’t paid so much for on the job trying , but he is , deal with it.
is he dynamic? Yep, playmaker ? Yep does he have an elite qb skills? Yep he does. The mechanics doesn’t bother me , he can rip the ball, make all the pro throws and more.
he is smallest ever unicorn as 1st overall draft pick. That hasn’t changed , and has been hurt. A lot. But also played more than I expected after the draft.

i like him and hope he’s back, will have his back. Hope monti doesn't get all fancy, taking risk like Keim. Get blue chip receiver or pass rusher bpa, and another starter in the first round. I think a lot of the losses are coaching losses, especially on defense. I mean is there other coaches available that would get better performance out of team we have? Will see as they move on to new teams.

Pretty clear what was wrong with Murray was KK
TBD if that's the only thing that was wrong with Murray. He showed glimpses of his potential and definite improvement in limited action last season, but he has to show he's overcome the flaws in his game to be what we need him to be.

Despite the above, I'm actually kind of optimistic heading into the year. The brutal early schedule and our defense will hold us back, but our offense should be solid.

The lack of playing under center (which K1 started to do last year), the lack of change in offense after League defenses figured out KK's offense were the biggest factors IMHO. Kingsbury lacked the ability to adapt, and kept running the same plays over and over. NFL Defensive coordinators, given enough film, will figure out an offense if that offense is stagnant

All valid points. He still has to show he can cut out the terrible decision negative plays where he bails on clean pockets. He has to show he can have at least one full, solid season. He has to show leadership to do this. And, importantly, he has to actually win a playoff game. Until and unless he can do those things, he still has plenty to prove. And, for me, this is the season to prove it. Maybe not the playoffs, because the D might cost them a shot, but the rest must be drastically improved from what we're used to, IMO. No more incremental improvements over seasons. He should be fully developed. Now or never for KM.

100% Murray as with most players has flaws his height is a thing. But we all know Murray “can” also be the most talented guy on the field at times. He needed to grow up, he needed better leadership, and he needs a balanced rushing attack so the D can’t focus on stopping him. I don’t know how good he can be but the talent is there. I feel this new regime is doing the right things and we will see Murray have every opportunity to be very good. But it is time to take big leaps forward and start doing it. I’m excited.

Murray needs to acknowledge the areas in his game that need improvement. Until he does this and makes a commitment to working on those areas, he will always be the could never quite reach the status of a top 10 QB. This is the time of year that everyone is saying positive things and everything is going great and we are improving, however it's still just talk and it needs to move to the field and be shown in the execution and performance of the individual and the team.

So much of it is taking what the D gives him, studying film, making the plays he supposed make, having a clean pocket and being unselfish and just making the throw or running if that makes sense to do, sacrifice like checking into a run and missing a Sportscenter highlight while Connor or Benson takes it to the house. This is part of maturity. Because the talent is there when channeled correctly. Essentially Murray has to put in the work, film study so presnap he has an idea where he's going and what his progressions might be. The NFL is just too good, structured to consistently streetball it, wing it.

This has to be it for Murray right? I mean if he comes out and looks entirely pedestrian? Are fans really going to buy into the next season he is still the cusp of greatness? I know I am not.
