There’s a rumor Udoka is the one pushing for KD while their GM is more conservative. Power struggles can lead to overpays. Minnesota has nothing I want unless it’s McDaniels who were not getting.

If Phoenix is dead set on retooling around Book then I am not against the Gobert rumor. He'd give us a strong defensive identity. We'd need a 3rd team for Divincenzo because he's not a PG and we don't need him. Ideally Grayson could be moved instead of Dante but I have little hope we'll get more than a late 1st and bad contract in return for Grayson.

They talked KD on ABC 15 and said Miami, Houston, and Minnesota are the finalists. Weird though because they seemed to be clueless while reporting. Very odd segment.

I'd be alright with that trade if we could get Dillingham. It makes me think of the Nance for KJ trade that changed the trajectory of the Suns franchise in the 80s.

Dillingham is said to be included. I'm indifferent on him but can see the KJ/Nance parallel for sure.

98.7 thinks the trade is going down this week. IDK how they know. Not sure if it is conjecture. Gambo said he's hearing it's this week, too. Gambo says the Suns will take the best deal, not necessarily where KD will go. He said there are a couple teams that would trade for KD even if he won't resign with them.

Gambo has consistently said the trade will happen before the draft. I think the draft is the latest we could hear something official but expect it to be done this week also. I know a Waffle House connoisseur who shared that info with me.

Only if we could then move Green for something valuable. Otherwise, it is the Beal situation all over again.
I don’t think it’s a Beal situation at all. After we are atrocious this season, this team is going to realize the only way out of this mess is to trade Booker and totally rebuild. At that point, we’ll have his replacement ready who’s young and still with a lot of upside.

You'd think the league would strongly suggest any announcement of a deal wait until the Finals conclude as to not take any spotlight from the seasons' pre-eminent event.

Today is Friday, so if a trade were going to happen this week, it would have to be tomorrow.

Next week or before the draft sounds more realistic, but I'm so ready for it to happen.

If the Suns want to compete to be a playoff team, this trade might get them close. It gives the Suns a starting center in Rudy Gobert and a veteran guard and dirt worker in Donte DiVincenzo. There might be better trades out there, but this one is not a bad one.

I'd like to move on from Grayson Allen as well.

I haven't seen much video on Rob Dillingham, but he is small for a point guard. Defense would be an issue for him, but he is quick and can shoot. I don't think he is ready to start, though. However, he is only 20.

The Suns would still likely need a starting point guard, so there is that.

It is usually kind of a no-no to announce a big trade during the finals. The Suns obviously don’t want to wait that long so I could see them doing it during the two day break (sat-sun) as a bit of a compromise.

I keep thinking there must have been NBA trades made during the playoffs in the past, but I haven't been able to find one yet.

I remember this one, definitely not the same magnitude of a KD deal. Denver made a small move.

The trouble you'll have finding some is the date they're made official by the league is usually draft day so you'll need to search for stories like this.

I'm glad you found a player, Kemba Walker, traded during the playoffs and not just picks.

Maybe a trade gets done with Durant soon, but not announced until the playoffs are over.

I just don’t KD and Rich Kleiman okay’ing this.

I’m still trying to figure how the rumored Minnesota deal makes sense for either side…

I think a lot of the trade rumors out there are speculation by media writers, so until I hear something concrete from Shams Charania and John Gambadoro, I'm not paying much attention to them other than for the entertainment value.

Are they going to fight it and forfeit $55 million? I say no. KD isn't Bradley Beal so he has no real way to stop it. Whether the Suns and Ishbia actually put the ball in KD's court is another thing entirely. The breakup has happened already, he's not coming back here so it's a matter of finding his next place to live before throwing his belongings on the curb.

Spurs seem to be the current favorite, but there isn't much outside of the high draft pick(s) that interest me, as far as who may be available. Keldon Johnson? Meh. Career bench player. Harrison Barnes? Meh. Past his prime decent role player. Devin Vassell? Good player, but redundant with this roster, and I'm hoping we've learned from past mistakes with redundant position players.

Any discussion I have with SA starts with the 2nd pick, but if not there, then the 14th pick and Stephon Castle. Which SA likely won't do.

None of the current possibilities for trades really work for me at all to be honest. Houston is probably the highest in my view, but every narrative about them has focused on Book, not KD. And I'm in the camp that I'm 100% certain we aren't trading Book to anyone, let alone Houston.
I’m okay with vassel if we can flip him. Kelton Johnson is a declining asset and worthless imo.

You might be able to trade Allen for a big. Arguably shooters are always in demand for play off teams.

Usually it's just guys with a trade simulator checking out that a trade could work. I agree. Until something more concrete, like multiple sources suddenly quoting the same thing, it's all people guessing.
